  • We set the charginging to 12:30 - 4:30 for Octopus cheap reate
  • Car was low (about 12%)
  • Plugged the car in at 11:p.m and checked scheduled charging was on (as above and 80%). All looked fine, and waiting to charge
  • Next day I looked at car and to my surprise it was still charging at 11:am
  • Looked at charge seetings > scheduled charging settings and it was now off and times were all at default --.-- and no 80% limit as had been set
  • Checked the Bright smart meter app and it seems the car had not started at 12:30, but had actually started at 5:30

(I checked the car's clock and it was set correctly)

Does anyone lknow what could have caused this to happen?

I suppose one lesson to learn is not to rely on scheduled charging if you have to get somewhere the next day. If I had had to get off to an early start at 5:30 (expecting to have added 4 hours of charge) then I'd have been hosed, possibly missed a flight.

I've got a funny feeling my issue is to do with the android blue link app updating or being killed by battery management in the phone, then sending default values to the car on restart.
Interesting - I think my iPhone apps are on autoupdate. But it would be so nice to know for sure what could have caused this.

Thing is two seemingly separate things happened which don't seem to imply just a reset.

  • At 12:30 it didn't charge when it should have
  • At 5:30 it started to charge

If it had reset before 12:30 (while plugged in) it would have started charging at that point.

If it reset at 5:30, then why didn't it start the normal expected scheduled charge at 12:30
