I have just completed the switch from Bulb to Pure Planet as they are coming out cheaper for me (East Midlands anyways)! They don’t do a E7 tarif, just 11.2p KWh 24/7! I find this better then an E7 as then I can charge the EV anytime of day, pure convince!

My referral link is: Pure Planet - Refer a friend

Instead of a daily standing charge they do a monthly fee but still comes out cheaper then Bulb and any other Energy provider according to USwitch!

So far I have had great customer service with them and there mobile app is really easy to use! They are planning smart meter roll out for both Gas and electrics spring 2018.

Any questions about Pure Planet please ask!

Plus there 100% green Energy as a bonus!

Hi, so if I were to switch, do you know if I would need to have my E7 meter taken out?
Nope, you’ll just add up your total usage. The app will ask if you have an E7 meter and if you do you just submit like you would normally do and it’ll just be under a single low rate.

Just ran my figures through. I have off-peak and, using my last year's statements with actual figures, I am coming out £12 per month dearer than Bulb. Most of my electricity is used overnight to charge the car.
We are a growing family and unfortunately it’s hard to use the benefit of an E7. For now this is perfect for us as we can just plug in and charge any time of day without worrying about peak and off peak rates!

Agree 11.2 pence per kWh is good. I get same price from Avro Energy (gas is 2.535 pence per kWh)
I try to charge after midnight because this is when demand for electricity is less and we need to give those wind turbines and nuclear power stations something to do at night.

This is something we used to do on an E7 tariff with Bulb but didn’t like paying more for electricity in the day when it was cheaper at night and now I just pay the same rate. My gas rate is 2.363kwh which is the cheapest I’ve seen anywhere so pretty good deal!

All things are relative it may be good for some if they have a very high usage .

However paying one of the most excessive standing charges I have seen to date is not so good for people on low usage like myself.

Energy prices per KW are subject to the same post code lottery as petrol prices which also vary massively around the UK so this tariff for me on my particular usage model that I use for comparisons in my neck of the woods is about £100 a year more expensive than several others primarily because of the £120 per fuel, per year, standing charge

It is included in the quote and like you said it’s all relative. I rather pay a one off a month high standing charge low per kWh as i know we’ll be high users. Just had my first months bill of £84 for both gas and electricity whereas was paying around £115 before?!

£14/year cheaper for me. There's 6 providers cheaper for me than Bulb according to MSE. The best is £71/year less, and still renewable.

On the other hand, two referrals a year would sustain Bulb as the cheapest. I've done 8, including my own (and two of those were during the promo £100 week). For this year at least, nobody is going to be cheaper.

They do seem cheap, however is their “Energy Hero Club Membership” monthly payment for both gas and Electricity? or is it only for the Electricity? (and no ‘membership’ fee for gas)

I can answer it myself now...

There is just the one fee (no fee for gas)

Just signed up (from OVO) and I estimate they will be ¼ cheaper.
What quote did you get for gas out of interest and how does this compare to your currently supplier?

It is interesting you are picking up on the gas prices. This is a big deal for us, we have to keep the house very warm for our son due to his muscle issues. AFAIR Bulb is a good price. Just a few extra 0.1 pennies for gas and any benefit for electricity prices vanishes.

TBH, the overall price varies by very little between suppliers. The reason for switching is to keep them keen and not let the price drift, but IMHO the actual range of prices in the market at any one time is pretty insignificant between the best 10 or so rates. You just have to be aware not to get ripped off and you are only going to save a few £10s.
