There is currently a documentary series on Discovery called supercars which is based in the factories of all the great supercar factories. A great series but last weeks episode about TESLA was simply amazing. Whether any of us would buy one in the real world is yet to be seen because they are very expensive but the planning and design is superb. I love my Ampera, don't get me wrong, but Vauxhall could learn a few things from TESLA. The entire drive train can be fitted in one go in under 5 minutes. The battery is flat and forms the floor and the chassis of the car and it too can be fitted in just a few minutes. Beautifully designed and engineered. They already have a claimed range of 430km When they start making smaller more affordable family cars with that sort of technology the big boys are going to have to pay attention.
