If your mate has a model 3 then get him to drive you about a bit. This should give you an idea if you like the interior, if the seats are comfortable, what the road noise is like at different speeds and if you like the suspension. You can also have a good poke about at the screen and see if you think it's bonus or a hindrance.
Then if you get a 15+ minute test drive you can use the full 15 minutes to get an idea of handling, driving position, visibility, just how awkward the demist button is to hit etc etc without worrying about trying to cram all the other things into 15 minutes.
I didn't have an option of a test drive with mine as they weren't in the country then, but I knew within the first 5 minutes of driving it that I was happy with the bits that counted to me.
