What's it called?!

After a year I still trip over "engine bay", but in a BEV there's no engine.

Motor bay?

Er...

Also, in the UK surely we have BEVs with froot, not a frunk?

Surely the combined brainpower of Speak EV can sort this out?!

:D

I think electric engine is still ok, an engine is a device which turns energy into movement, steam engines don't involve petrol or diesel!

To confuse it even further, aren't ICEs referred to as 'motor' cars anyway?!

EDIT:
According to Wikipedia ICEs were originally called motors to differentiate them from steam engines.

I will never, ever use the word "frunk". Ugh.

I don't honestly know the last time I used "engine bay" though. Only thing anyone has ever asked is "what's under the bonnet?"
