Hello All,

This is the official user account of the EVDA-UK on SpeakEV.

It is understood that perhaps in the past, we at the EVDA may have not been as vocal or engaging in 3rd party forums as some of you would like. He have got things wrong in the past in some peoples eyes but we do listen and we have made changes to show we are an approachable and open organisation.

Towards the end of May 2014 we had our first AGM where committee members positions were offered and and we received a number of people who were prepared to stand, most were current committee members and only one other name offered their intension to stand for vote, Andrew Fenwick-Green stood for Membership and Marketing Secretary, the other new post of Strategy and Co-ordination had only recently been filled so the committee decide to wait until the next AGM before offering the position for election.
Due to only a few people standing for each of the available roles, those standing were dually elected to the positions they had stood for.

As a way to show openness and to inform members of our achievements and tasks undertaken, we have decided to issue a semi-regular newsletter, the first of which is due for dispatch very soon!

As an example of the work we have been doing behind the scenes, he is a typical item.....

EVDA has been able to ‘up the game’ for EV Owners and Drivers by receiving an invitation to participate in the Steering Group for two major EV studies. The first of which is a study into the “Development of a Policy Framework for Low Carbon Light Duty Vehicles”. EVDA believes that we are delivering on our mandate to achieve recognition, for EV owners, in the major policy fora.
EVDA recognises that having been invited to contribute to the decision making process, it is essential that we capture the viewpoints of as many EV drivers as possible and have raised a ‘call’ to make a working group, under the EVDA Liaisons Group.

I am sure when you read the newsletter once it is released and news items like the one above you will see a lot of work has been going on for a number of months which I'm sure you are aware, these cogs run very slowly! Now if you feel you can lend some representation for the above steering group and be an active part in the work we are trying to do for as many corners of the EV community then please do so by contacting the Liaisons team, full details can be found at the link above.

Until our next post, please ask any questions and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Here's looking for a bright future of inclusion,
The EVDA-UK Team.
