I’ve been using a normal domestic socket for charging during the day inside the garage without any extension leads. It takes nearly 5 hours. If I change tariff and charge overnight to take advantage of the 4-hour cheap rate, how can I time it? Would it be safer to have a proper charging installation? Does that have a timer on it? I haven’t got a smart meter yet. I saw a similar question recently but help would be greatly appreciated in layman’s terms!

Thank you - I'd seen your post - but I need layman's terms or preferably laygranny's terms... hopefully?
