Going through the brochures deciding which boxes to tick I've 'inserted' several question marks.
Yesterday afternoon I sent the salesman a list of 12 questions, but also went looking on the BMW website, with very little joy.

I'm not (yet) convinced that an i3 BEV is a vehicle high on the list of 'vehicles likely to be stolen', by joyriders, for use in committing another crime,or by professionals as a crime in itself.
The only justification I can think of is to break for parts, specifically the battery, but surely the market for these is too small and too specialised to make theft likely?

Any thoughts or advice from the more experienced please?

Regards.

People might have gathered from my first post that I thought Trackstar was something I could live without.
People would have been correct, at that time!!

However, some of the responses made me wonder that it might be useful if friends and family could use the phone app to get a better idea of your ETA if you were on a '6 hour' trip to visit them, which might be extended if the recharge stops didn't go exactly to plan.
Similarly, if the significant other took the car on a longish trip, and was nervous about charging stops, the 'stay at home' could monitor progress.
Both purposes could be achieved without irritating phone calls.

Has anyone used Trackstar in this sort of way?

Regards.

Looked again at Trackstar in the price list, which reminded me (in the very small print) that there is a subscription charge as well as the installation fee.
In my lifestyle, past, present, and foreseen future, there has not been and will not be many opportunities when any 'personal tracking' would be useful, so I will forgo the Trackstar service.

Thanks for all your input.
Regards.
