If you want to walk the line between efficiency and good traction then:
1. Michelin Primacy MXM4 (USA name)
2. Turanza Serenity Plus
3. Continental PureContact
If you want even more traction and don't care about losing range/mpg then:
1. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
Just know that with any of the above tires you WILL lose range and fuel economy vs. the OE tire or the Ecopia EP422.

The highest performance tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE-11s, more cornering/braking/ grip than you would ever believe a Volt could have.
I have a set and love them, they are also quieter than the OEM tires, although they have a little bit of a hum to them at speed.
However your range will go down by 4-5 miles per charge. (speaking from experience) I kept my OEM ones and will put them back on for the winter, need the extra range so I can run my heater
I haven't replaced my tires, but I do know that the Michelin Primacy MXV4 was the #1 rated H-speed tire by Consumer Reports.

It got an "excellent" rating for Rolling Resistance, Noise, and Ride comfort; "very good" rating for Dry and Wet Braking, Handling, Snow Traction, and Tread Life; and "good" rating for Hydroplaning and Ice Braking.

There is also a Youtube video from here in the USA where they put 3 different tires on a Nissan Leaf each achieving different characteristics.
