Today my ID.4 first edition, currently running an OTA update to WeCharge ... is anyone else's doing the same?

You get these from time to time, it updates the sat nav mapping to include the WeCharge charge locations.

You say you picked it up recently? Looks like it’s catching up a bit!
Yes, I've had updates from time to time, but this is the first one for "wecharge" that's come through... its never specifically mentioned it by name before ...

Generally found that we charge is a waste of time, too slow and clunky... will be curious to see if anything is better with it, when it's completed !

Update completed, had a play with it today (in the drive, in the heat) ... and amazingly the "WeCharge App" is now "usable" ... it responds pretty well, and shows status of charging points ... I'm holding up hope that VW might actually get scheduled charging working in the next release for the car we're all waiting for :ROFLMAO: (y)

Yes, I had a quick play with the updated version and my first impression is also that it is a lot more usable
Downloaded the other day i find it very usable! Just wish I could find an easy way to have it on the main screen for easy access!
Same here. I've not used WeCharge before as it was far too clunky and slow.

Does WeCharge show all EV charging options available or just those associated with the VW We Charge Go subscription thing?
It’s Showing all the chargers as on Zap-Map it’s showing green which I presume is available and others blue! I’m trying to find out what it all stands for!
It actually works!
Not having to zoom in to see the chargers makes all the difference. Not sure of the point yet of linking to my account, but maybe that is for future easy charging ability.
Does anybody know how long it takes to install?

This morning I started the update and within a minute it got to about 75%, I drove for about 10 minutes, then I got out to do some shopping, then 10 minute drive back (it resumed, but didn't change the progress bar). Then when I got home I sat in the car for about 20 minutes, and it's still stuck at about 75%.

It took 5 minutes in my car, no more. It said to leave the car turned off for at least 5 minutes after the install was completed.

You are not missing too much though, It is still lacking when compared to Zapmap as you seem to have to tap on icons to see the power of the chargers (or perhaps set a filter) and both the Zapmap is faster on my phone than the new WeCharge is in the car, but it is a step in the right direction.

Is there an equivalent of the 'a better route planner' app on the VW, or in the pipeline so I could enter a longer journey and it plan a route with available chargers, that would be really useful.

Thanks - I tried sitting in the car again for another 15 minutes, but it's still stuck around 75%. It doesn't seem to be preventing anything else from working so I can keep it on in the background while I drive for a while. If it's still like that in a few weeks, hopefully it will get fixed when it's been in for v2.4 update.
Did the update in my ID4 today took only 5 mins or so, like has been said once downloaded switch off car wait 5 mins at least and switch back on.

Yes it shows nearest chargers available and status but not very up to date. Osprey opened 4 x 150kw chargers near me and that's not showing, it's been in service 3-4 months now. Also new MFG 6 charger point opened 3 weeks ago also not shown. Both of these are on zap map so they need to show new charge points quicker.

My WeCharge has updated now - yesterday I had another prompt while I was driving - this time I think it showed slightly different information (rather than mentioning WeCharge as in the initial photo, it said something like "Software improvements" and "Bug fixes"), then it took about 5 minutes and then displayed the instruction to leave for 5 minutes.

I suspect the first progress bar may have been downloading the update, then the second notification was to actually install the update. In which case, maybe the first progress bar stalled due to connection issues, and then downloaded properly when I got into a better 4G area (although this is just a guess because 4G is usually quite good around here).
