"Is" the Fluence ZE available in the UK the swappable battery version? I understood there were 2 versions, one swappable, one not..
My understanding is that all Renault batteries are "swappable"
Having been originally designed to comply with the now defunct "better place", it wouldn't make sense to redesign your whole battery set up, would it ?

I'm sure you are right but if you watch the youtube clip of zoe manufacture the battery fits in 20seconds max so presumably pops out just as easy. Looks like about 10 bolts and one plug
I read that Renault removed swapping from Zoe during a late redesign. Saves them a little on costs.

I would imagine the same is true for the updated Kangoo Z.E. They took out battery swapping to reduce costs. This is just a guess though.

Renault promised rapid charging on Kangoo phase II but then quietly dropped it. My guess is their large fleet customers didn't want to pay the extra €150 per unit. Most of the vans go to the French government.
