Anyone know how to fix this without having to deal with Hyundai?

Started happening today and comes up every time the car is started.

EDIT - better picture!

I like the effects, just before you go into hyperspace? Must be a new option on the MY 2020 :ROFLMAO:

I presume you have switched the noise off and on?

Yeah, nothing happens. We’ve got no sound, so watch out pedestrians!

Interesting - is this a 2020 model ? The 2018MY doesn't give any error if the VESS unit is unplugged, but I think VESS is now mandatory so that may explain why it checks it now
Does the 2020 have a switch to disable VESS?

Yes, and yes. Down and to the right where you can turn off the Lane assist stuff.

Doesn’t make a difference if we turn it off and on again.

Maybe VESS in a new car just requires calibration on several pedestrians, preferably in conjuction with the automatic emergency braking AEB ? :geek: You should just check it!

?

According to research done by another owner, CAN heartbeat messages from the VESS in the normal state are not required, which is why disconnecting the cable causes no error. The only way an error could be noted by the system is if the VESS intentionally sent such a message. As such, pulling the plug should remove the error message.

Odd comment. I didn’t read that as spam, but as a genuine suggestion.
Have you tried unplugging it to see if the error disappears?

The comment I replied to was trying to sell stuff, ow deleted.

And no, I don’t seem to be able to get my hand at the right angle to unplug.

Booked in to see Hyundai in September now.
