Just spent 2 weeks in Florida and whilst here I made a point of trying to spot a Volt on the road. Nothing!

In 2 weeks of driving around no Volts. No Nissan Leafs either as it happens.

Not too suprised. There aren't many of them out there but I was kinda hoping!

Interestingly, I did see one at one of the Disney parks as part of the static display outside one of the rides but nothng on the road.

Seen no adverts on TV either.

We're working on it Paul. Many of us volunteer test drives to friends and neighbors let alone chance encounters.

Looks like word of mouth will have to counter right wing propaganda.

Sales in Florida didn't start until late 2011 so I guess could be one reason there are less around than in the "launch" states, plus "gas" is a bit cheaper than some states (e.g CA)

It would be interesting to see sales by state...

FYI - gas in Orlando was 3.50 USD per US gal

Not sure why, but Orlando is one of the cheaper parts of Florida for 'gas'. We have a place in South West Florida and it is a bit more expensive there. There is a neat map showing USA gas prices at this link - http://www.californiagasprices.com/Price_By_County.aspx

This post is completely off topic so I apologise but... as we got very close to Orlando Airport the price of gas went up to over 5 USD per gallon!

Yeah they do that at Miami too. It is to fleece tourists who need to return their rental car full. They set the price so it is a $1 or so less than the rip-off-price the rental company will charge!
