Having recently px’d my golf gte I still had the 3 pin charger that I sold on eBay. Worked fine and charged the gte as I checked before selling (only the second time I took it out of the bag since I owned it). The buyer has a Renault Zoe and cannot get it to work, is this something that should work or are the VW chargers limited to only working on VW’s? Any advice greatly appreciated

It’s probably more likely his home wiring.

The Zoe can be fussy.

I used my Tesla UMC fine on the last two Zoes, but the new Zoe doesn’t like it.

Did you wiring suddenly get bad?

Over the years it was well documented that Zoe could work or just be a plain pain in the ass with 3rd party granny leads. The Tesla one was a prime example, if it worked, great! If it didn't you had to buy another one.

Generally the only one that works most of the time is the Renault one. In fact it was writ into the battery lease if you used a non approved lead it could invalidate your battery warranty.
