I think we should bombard VW requesting refund for all ID3 and ID4 buyers who paid £1250 for the heat pump option. (Now reduced to £1000)

They appear to be paying back 1250 Euros in Europe for the same reason. I have written to VW UK myself but so far along with all other complaints it has fallen on deaf ears.

Only good thing so far about having an EV it that I signed up to Octopus on the "Go Faster 5H 20:30" tariff and can now get my dishes washed for 5.5 p/kwH every night.

If anybody in the UK is looking for a good supplier and 5 Hours per day @ 5.5 p/kwH then please use my referal code and we both get £50

Do you mean they are doing partial refunds of 250 Euros (to bring it down to the 1000 Euro new reduced cost), or full refunds (1250). I specifically asked our Skoda dealer about this before ordering our Enyaq, and he said about the 250 Euro refund to bring it down to 1000 Euro, but as our Enyaq had the option as £1000 we were already at the reduced rate.

Its gone down to £1000 in the UK, so if you payed the old price of £1250 get in touch with your dealer as I did a few weeks ago and got a £250 refund.
Great news. Would appreciate it if you could tell me the name of your dealer please. I would like some ammunition when I contact my dealer. Thanks.

Many thanks. I bought mine at Lookers Preston. I have dropped them an email to my salesman. Just waiting for a response.

Sorry my wording looks like 1250 refund. I know that they only refunded the difference in Europe. It has now been confirmed that it is happening in the UK £250 as confirmed by "Did66" on this forum.

Hi
Not sure how it works with leasing. Might be worth asking.

Hope you are getting cheap charging rates and using a 7 kW home charger. I use the Ohme charger and tell it which tariff I am on. It then looks after itself with no issues.

I have found Octopus to be the best. I got £90 credit just for ordering a VW. which you may be entitled to. I was an existing cutomer and still got the £90.

If you or anybody decides to go with Octopus, I would appreciate it if you would use my referral code shown below.
Once you change we both get £50 credit.

share.octopus.energy/snow-tapir-987

I currently get 5 Hours per night at 5-5 p/kwh which is more than enough to charge if I do 150 miles per day and costs around £2

I bought my ID4 from Corkills in Wigan, when I rang them they where great and it was in my bank in a few days.
Hi
I am having no luck with my refund. I am now talking direct to VW. I mentioned your dealer and they seem to think it was just a goodwill gesture from Corkills.
Would you do me a favour and give them a call to let me know if it was simply a goodwill gesture, or have they been instructed to refund the £250.
I really would appreciate it. VW are getting back to me this Friday since I am still waiting for my ID4 (Month 6) My dealer (Lookers) is an absolute JOKE

There is no need for heat pumps in a ev in the UK.
If you live in the artic circle, then perhaps you might gain some marginal benefit.
Its just an ev version of go-faster stripes to generate cash for the OEM from gullible buyers.
Imho.

It was definitely not a good will gesture, im not sure why you are getting any joy.let me know if you don't get your refund on Friday and I will ring Corkills. If you wish to ring them yourself ask for Phil Collins he's the person who sorted it for me. As for not getting a heat pump or not its down to choice there are lots of blogs saying its a good investment and some saying the opposite. I plan to keep the car for 5 or 6 years so I thought it may pay for it self by then or may help when it comes to selling my car.

Thanks for that. I have referred your refund comments to VW head office. Hoping they will phone and get the answer. They will phone me on Friday to let me know.
I agree with you regarding the heat pump. It has to be better than a 5 kW electric heater and as you say should should increase the resale value. The ID3 I am using (No heat pump) has noticeably reduced in range since the cooler weather started.

Interesting to hear the views in this thread and a partial success of the refund. Whilst paying more than the next person for anything is depressing you'll find it happens all the time. Televisions were the first. Early adopters pay more. Imagine the other way round. VW offer the heat pump option for £1000 and a few months later put the price up to £1250. Is everyone who bought at £1000 happy to stump up the extra £250? I think not.
If you think this issue is a problem don't try buying a Tesla. Their price goes up and down on a weekly basis!

Its not a case of paying more,VW have issued a refund of £250 for the heat pump which I got back no trouble from Corkills of Wigan in the UK and some are having a problem getting back.
