hi all does anyone know if you have to pay that luxury tax thingy i dont know what they call it but its when a car price is over a certain value it wont be done by company thinking of buying 1 outright but not sure about that car tax thing

You do not currently pay any additional car tax for an EV over £40K as you do if you purchase a diesel or petrol model. The current VW brochure has this information at the rear.

It only applies to fossils, EV's are exempt (for now).

found out today if any electric car value is over 40.000 you have the tax to pay for the first 3 years

Don’t think that is true - who told you that?

Pure-electric vehicles are currently exempt from road tax – no matter their original list price.

AND

Will electric-car owners have to pay road tax in the future?
While pure-electric cars are currently road-tax-exempt, this favourable situation is unlikely to continue indefinitely.
