VW ID4 Delivery Date Moved back!

Ordered my first EV (VW ID4) back in August 2021. Via VW Fleet services (Company car). I was originally given a provisional delivery date of March 2022. Today VW Fleet advised that the date has been moved back to 30th June 2022. Again this is a provisional date.

I have an ID4 pure 52kw ordered end Sept and was given Feb/Mar as expected delivery date. I had an update about 4 weeks ago and they said they were expecting it in the next few weeks so delivery should be as originally stated.

I will progress it again next week to see if delivery has slipped or not.

I had an answer back from my dealer today regarding our order for an ID4 pure 52kw ordered end Sept 2021 he had earlier stated build week 50 with a Feb/Mar handover to me.

This was his response to me earlier today.

"I have had a look at the build status and the car is showing confirmed as build week 50 last year, this suggests that the car has been built but is just waiting for a part of some sort.

The car could start moving at any time so I would be extremely surprised if we are unable to meet a March handover although this of course could still be the case.

I will move you forward 2 weeks in my diary and update you then, hopefully with some more positive information."

So hopefully as long as the part is available we should still see the car by End March latest I am also assuming it should come with the firmware update improvements already installed.

I see that the war in Ukraine is affecting supplies of parts for VW & Skoda EV's so even the few cars that are coming through are going to be affected. I am hoping my ID4 was going to be shipped anytime soon but that is looking less likely now.

Having said that I am more worried for the poor Ukrainians than delivery of my new car.
Great news d3rx I am still waiting for confirmation when my ID4 will be coming and that was scheduled with a build week 50 so hopefully mine could be here soon (next 3-4 weeks)
following on from d3rx's good news I e-mailed my dealer for a further update and this is what reply I got this morning:

"Good Morning Keith

Your car has got a Chassis number so is complete, and showing status 38, so is at the German port waiting to be collected and bought over, all the customs paperwork is complete so just needs a boat. I guess we’ll see it within a week or so.

Ill keep an eye on the status’, but really not too far away now.

Speak to you soon, Many Thanks Simon."

So I should be seeing the vehicle in the next 2-3 weeks I think, and well chuffed as it is about on time as was quoted Feb/Mar delivery at the time of order.

New ID4 pure life 52Kw in Kings Red on the way😁

Anyone know what ships they use from Emden please and how often they sail and which port of arrival. I know they use Sheerness Grimsby and somewhere up the North east.

My car is waiting a vessel and has customs docs apparently so when it gets on a ship I guess sailing time is only a day or so then once offloaded and cleared customs the dealer might get it 7-10 days later. Does that sound about right for an ID4.

Just did a search and found this ship, it looks like the one your GTX came on. I will keep a look out for this ship on it's next trip.

Well that's 3 chances we have, hopefully it will be one of those.😊
I wouldn't hold your breath. I was told mine was at the port awaiting a shipping on 16th Feb and still not allocated a boat. I'm told there are boats leaving 11th, 15th and 16th March and allocation doesn't get confirmed until 24hrs before.

@Bigdeaks I see this ship offloaded at Grimsby yesterday from Emden I wonder if our cars are on this ship 👍
Yippee that's great news😁

I sent my dealer an e-mail earlier today asking if mine has sailed yet and if so or if not to let me know the vessel info when it has or does ship.

He usually gets back to me next day, so hopefully tomorrow I am hoping my news will be as positive.🤞
Great news for you too 😁 how long has yours been waiting at the port? mine has been there at least a week so hoping mine is on the Neckar too, just waiting for my dealer to get back to my e-mail to him from yesterday.🙏
I see from your other post you said about 3 weeks ago since you were told status 38.
Yippee for me too!!! just been informed my ID4 is also at Grimsby waiting onward transport to My Dealers in the midlands. I am told approx 7-10 days and the vehicle will be with them and then 2-3 days for PDI etc. 😁 😁

Sorry to hear that news LB:( your order was earlier than mine and yet is still awaiting parts. I know when I ordered my car it was from a batch of unsold orders that had already been placed on order with the factory (only option was to pick the colour) so managed to jump the gun a bit. I knew within a month the build week was scheduled as week 50 2021 and expected to be with us Feb/Mar.

I hope the parts show up soon for you and that you see your car in a few weeks time.👍
My dealer called me today and said my car should be with them in 2-3 days then they need 2-3 days to have it ready for me to collect probably early next week😁

I was out yesterday up in Manchester at my daughters Masters Graduation and half way through got a video from my dealer of my car that had arrived in double quick time from the docks😁

Great to see all you guys are getting yours too, it seems there has been a push to get some cars out and we have been lucky getting ours😍.

Mine was a week 50 car so don't know if it's a MY22.5 or not but I should be getting it early next week. Seeing that firmware 3.0 is out on new cars now so wondering if our cars will have it too. I don't know whether that's done at the factory before the car leaves or at the dealers when they arrive.

Anyway can't wait to pick up our car and hope the rest of you guys that are still waiting you don't have to wait much longer.

Hand over day complete! Absolutely over the moon guys and gals, 100% worth the wait. What a fantastic piece of engineering for a brilliant monthly price on the 52kw. Finally part of the EV club! 😁 View attachment 159443

Is that interior colour classed as black, my Kings red is coming with soul black interior but your pics look almost like dark grey and dark blue?.

Also when I pick mine up next Tuesday they said they will charge it up was yours fully charged or just partial.

Anyway congrats on the car we all have waited patiently for I am itching now to get in mine.😁

A question for the guys who just picked up their ID4's got our's yesterday and over the moon with it. It has firmware 2.3 so the latest till 3.0 rolls out over the next few months.

At the handover the salesguy went through the basics with us (there is a lot to take in) and we connected our phones via bluetooth ok but when he tried to connect to we connect it could not do it due to vw servers being busy so asked us when we get home to keep trying till it connects.

We got home and downloaded the app to our phones but my question is what is this service for and is it a paid for service or free with the car purchase for maybe 3 years like the warranty.

If it's a paid for service there is no info on the app to suggest an annual or monthly cost but you have 14 days to cancel after initiating the app. I certainly don't want to be paying money for a service that I don't need.
