Interesting, wonder how quickly that trick will be stopped their end when everyone emails him!
Wonder if I can do it even though its a lease through work sal sac. I'll give it a go!
Interesting, wonder how quickly that trick will be stopped their end when everyone emails him!Mine had an estimated build date of “week 6 2022” for ages (originally the build date was “week 42 2021”). They still haven’t made it!
So I wouldn’t get too encouraged.
I heard that if your order has slipped a few times you can send a strongly worded email to the CEO ([email protected]) and get your order prioritised. I did that, obviously Blume doesn’t read them personally, but someone from Executive team at VW UK rang me and promised to escalate with the factory and that when they’d done so previously vehicles had magically been built…
Nothing to lose!Interesting, wonder how quickly that trick will be stopped their end when everyone emails him!

Seems not, sent an email to Lex to chase the dealer if there was a confirmed build date and then at the same time sent an email to Oliver.Nothing to lose!
Well for me it was ordered Aug '21 expected Jan '22. Which then moved to March, then April, May, June, Oct and then finally December.Out of interest how long do you generally wait between first ordering and then getting any kind of build date indication? I presume nobody has really beaten the build date. I've been advised that it's 50+ weeks currently from ordering, but by the sounds of it I'd expect it to be even longer than that really.
I ordered June 2021 for December 2021 delivery. I’ve lost count how many predicted build dates have come and gone still no car I’m starting to doubt that I’ll get it I before 2023.Out of interest how long do you generally wait between first ordering and then getting any kind of build date indication? That's it, the communication has been diabolical.I ordered June 2021 for December 2021 delivery. I’ve lost count how many predicted build dates have come and gone still no car I’m starting to doubt that I’ll get it I before 2023.
For me the lead time isn’t the problem. The problem is that VW don’t have a clue what cars they’ll be making a few weeks time. If they’d told be when they missed December 2021 that it’d take at least another year, probably longer, then I’d have been able to plan accordingly. But no. The car has been “6-weeks away” all year!
They probably found one that was the same spec you'd ordered where the customer has given up and cancelled and because you complained they'd given it to you! That's it, the communication has been diabolical.
Last I heard was Dec, not till I chased up am I then told its built and on its way. They'd have known weeks ago it was going to be built, the last time progress was checked with the dealer was the 30 August and no update from the Dec date provided.
Had I of not chased, who knows when I'd have been told. Probably not till it ended up on my door.
That did cross my mind, its just a life spec in manganese grey (they don't do that colour anymore) and the 18" alloys. They probably found one that was the same spec you'd ordered where the customer has given up and cancelled and because you complained they'd given it to you!
I think one reason mine is taking so long is that I've ordered the "Max".Interestingly the ID.4 Max isn't a model you can order currently, GTX Max is the closest. Also the Family is now a rebundled Style. I'm not sure when manufacturing actually changed though.
With any luck they might upgrade you to a GTX Max which is arguably the closest model now.I think one reason mine is taking so long is that I've ordered the "Max".
I doubt it!With any luck they might upgrade you to a GTX Max which is arguably the closest model now.
They're still building old specs, I enquired a couple of months back that Manganese Grey isn't an available colour anymore but was assured it'll still come with that. With any luck they might upgrade you to a GTX Max which is arguably the closest model now.
My dealer is still confident about pre-xmas delivery. However he was pretty confident about me getting it before last xmas.Update from Arval today… moved from back end of Dec to early Feb, originally estimated for early November. I’ll be back in Jan to keep you all updated on the next delay 🙄😂
He just didn't say WHICH Xmas!My dealer is still confident about pre-xmas delivery. However he was pretty confident about me getting it before last xmas.
I've been worried that VW will do what so many other manufacturers have done and cancel the order! He just didn't say WHICH Xmas!
I think I'll feel lucky if I've got mine in 2023 at all.
I wasn't going to get finance until I get the car, but I've got the option of a PCP at a good deal. I don't think they'll cancel orders but who knows?I've been worried that VW will do what so many other manufacturers have done and cancel the order!
I've locked in a REALLY great price and (what now looks like) super-low-rate finance!
I was intending to pay the finance off as soon as I got the car but given what interest rates are doing I'll probably keep the loan and pay some off my mortgage!
When BMW increased their prices, they told everyone who'd ordered at the previous price: their order was cancelled and if they wanted a car they could get to the back of the queue and pay the new price.I wasn't going to get finance until I get the car, but I've got the option of a PCP at a good deal.
