You can lock in the PCP when you place the order, or do it when you collect the car. I did mine when I placed the order to lock in the incentive.
Yeah, I've got PCP locked in as well at an OK price, I was going to self finance but I've got the PCP there as backup.

When the GBP was falling against the Euro a few days ago I was wondering how low it'd have to go before VW cancelled my order!
I ordered mine recently at already a high price, honestly think if they put them up anymore then they won't have any orders, obviously I don't know what you purchased at and I don't think I want to know!

To be fair to VW they haven't messed customers around like BMW have as said, mate of mine was telling me his friend ordered an i4 M50 and had those exact problems.

BMW demanded the new price and increased finance %apr rates were signed up to in order to keep his order. He went elsewhere as it was a massive hike.

Thank goodness, I assume it will have the upgraded 12 v battery and 3.0 software after all this waiting........

Let me know how you like it compared to your Born as it is possible I may want one in a month or so if the ID4 has to be returned.

It should have 3.1 (I hope) but yeah the 12v were sorted ages ago for manufactured cars, those are pre 2.4 cars as I understood.

Having had an ID3 for 8 months through Onto it shouldn't be alien to us, be interesting to see how less efficient it is compared to the Born/ID3 and whether having 50 less bhp is noticeable in normal driving in an EV.

My 52 kW is showing a long term average of 3.9ml per kW over 2000 miles total covered so far so pretty good IMV.

My use is mainly urban with very little use over 50 mph and don't do any boy racer type driving.

I’ve found even our GTX to be not that different consumption wise to the ID.3 that went before it, the front motor disengages at a cruise, so you might be pleasantly surprised at how well your ID.4 does.

I did 34k miles in the ID.3 over 18 months, and I’m around 15k miles and 7 months into the ID.4 GTX.

Very nice. What was the spec/colour again?
Nowt special, Life Pure spec in Manganese Grey and the 18" alloys rather than the steels but the new Life specs come with these alloys as standard now.

From what I've seen on the ID4 UK Facebook owners group the Life Pures are coming out in their droves at the moment compared to the higher spec and 77kWh battery versions. Maybe that's just the larger volume car rather than being prioritised 🤷‍♂️

I seem to be paying the price for ordering a “Max”.

My Business Max was ordered in August of -21. It has not been locked yet for production. Currently the estimated production week is 2023W3. When I placed the order it was 2022W5.
I ordered mine June 2021 with expected build date of W42 2021. Lots of promised build dates have come and gone since then. Current expected build date is W46 2022. The dealer is philosophical…

I have noticed the odd new 52kW life pure available from stock in the last few days on Autotrader so maybe they are not selling quite as quick these days.

I was listening to Wake up to money on radio 5 this morning and there was talk from one of the presenters saying that EV sales were slowing due to current cost of charging (up to £1 per kw public chargers) and with current economic uncertainty some are not buying higher ticket items so readily. Also stated that some potential new car customers seeing charging prices being hiked up (to near parity fueling an ICE car) and cost of EV's to buy being higher are now considering ICE vehicles and thinking maybe look at EV next time round in 2-3 years time when prices may have adjusted down with newer cheaper models on the way.

These folk" who are only considering due to cost savings are in for a shock when the government finally apply taxes of sorts to EVs to make up for the lost fuel duty and emissions tax income, which I suspect will start in a few years on a gradual basis.

Hi Briggo a question for you if you don't mind?

Your new ID4 you got yesterday ( a base 52kw pure life) did it come with the new battery and 3.0 software.

I might be interested in another base ID4 imminently and wonder how the spec for the base model has changed since our last car which we took delivery of in Mar 22. Do the new ones still come with heated seats and steering wheel and reversing camera. Any other changes you know of. I know the latest ones are supposed to have Alloys but the base models I see advertised from stock seem to still come with steel wheels with plastic covers.

It's the same spec as what's on the website now, the Life spec hasn't changed other than the Falun alloys are now standard as opposed to the steels that was originally standard last year.

Since I ordered the ID4s across the board have had some upgrades like Park assistance plus so that's a bonus for me but won't be any different for your early 22 model.

Yes mine has the uprated battery (they all do since 2.3/4 cars) and it's come with 3.1 software rather than 3.0 which comparing the 3.1 in the ID4 to the 3.0 in the Born, 3.1 is a lot better in terms of response speeds and functionality. (3.0 is much better than the 2.x versions).

If you could do a straight swap financially you might as well for a newer car and 3.1 if not and it'll cost you a chunk then I wouldn't bother.
