Twice now, on the day following a heavy rain shower I have opened the rear doors and noticed quite an accumulation of water draining from around the bottom edge of the seal on the door.

It surprised me just how much had accumulated, especially as I had driven a couple of miles before opening the door, so I would have thought the water would have been "flushed" out by the movement.

I have not had chance to get under the door yet but thought it best to mention in case such a water trap might be there on all cars.

Anybody else noticed this?

Not noticed it yet on the Ampera but the Nissan Leaf has exactly this problem. Nissan are trying to find a solution. So far Nissan have cut the bottom door seal to open up the drain holes but it hasn't completely fixed it.

I only mention the Leaf because it may be a similar issue.

I will take a note on the Ampera and see if I have a similar problem.
