Hey everyone! I am a researcher at UC Berkeley and an electric vehicle enthusiast. I wanted to let you know that:

UC Berkeley is conducting a study to explore how current and potential electric vehicle drivers may benefit from the introduction of fast charging infrastructure.

To help UC Berkeley and automakers understand how fast chargers may be used, please take this survey and send the survey to friends!

You are eligible to complete this survey if you are over 21 years of age. Those who complete the survey will have a chance to receive an iPod Nano! This survey should take no longer than 8 minutes!

If you do not drive a plug in electric vehicle, take this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NonEVDriver

I've been to UC Berkeley - just visiting, back in 2000. Lovely place. I'll never forget seeing a student walking out of the main campus building and driving off in a lamborghini!

Good survey that. Just filled it in. Over here we refer to our 'fast' chargers as 'rapids'.

I liked this question in particular:
7. If you could eat or shop while charging your car in 15-30 minutes, would you be drawn to a location with a fast charger? (Please select one response)
Most of our rapids are sited on motorway (highway) service stations. Generally we'll end up scoffing snacks and coffee when we stop to charge :p

Personally I think Rapids should only be deployed in 'en-route' locations. For retail locations where bays are going to be occupied for extended periods whilst people shop, Fast chargers make more sense to provide top-ups.
