Having had a truly awful experience owning a Renault Zoe (the car is fine but soooo many problems with the dealer before and after purchase), I'm now considering placing an order for an i3.

So far my experience with BMW has been mixed - the i3 specialist at High Wycombe hasn't been in touch, however the BMW I Specialist on Park Lane has been very impressive. I've also called the Customer Information line (around 9pm last night) with a couple of questions about the cabin pre-conditioning, which they were able answer. So a 'normal' dealer has been a bit of a disappointment, but the dedicated i3 showroom/line have been very good.

Are they as customer-friendly once you've placed the order, and after you've taken delivery? I've never owned a Bimmer before, but I have been happy with Ford and Jaguar, Vauxhall were hit-and-miss and Citroen are generally good but of late have started to slip a bit. Given that the i3 is considerably more expensive then the Zoe, does the service from the manufacturer reflect the premium level of the vehicle?

Park Lane is BMW direct so they have a very good reputation.

I started www.mini2.com way back when, and can say that overall BMW seem very good in general for both sales and service, even to "mere" MINI owners.

Personally I always tended to use Wollaston in Northampton, but have heard good things about the Milton Keynes dealer and their handling of i3 enquiries lately.

Overall I've never had better experience than with BMW and felt quite nervous about going with Nissan, but the MK dealer have been great so far.

I've no previous experience with BMW, but Lancaster in Milton Keynes were very good today. Friendly, helpful and not at all pushy, offered a test drive without me having to ask.

I'm just waiting on a quote now...

My partner has been a long term BMW Mini owner and she rates the service and dealers. My own experience with Tesla has been amazing. With luck the premium price will deliver premium EV service from BMW.

That's all very reassuring to hear - having just been charged for three weeks of car hire while Renault tried to fix my Zoe, I can't wait to be rid of them...

After my glowing endorsement above - I never heard another word from them. No quote, no follow-up, no contact.
BMW emailed me directly asking if I'd like to be put in contact with my local dealer after I enquired on-line, I replied "yes" and never heard from them either.
