Can anyone please confirm the specs for the 17 and 19 inch wheels?
I have 18s currently (oxfords?) that I'm happy with and looking to get a second set so I can go back to having dedicated summer and winter tyres. I'm happy to go for 17, 18 or 19. 17 would be for the winter but many I've seen are quite narrow which is not necessarily a bad thing with winter tyres. A second set of 18s would either be for summer or winter depending on spec and the 19s would definitely be for summer.
Does anyone have photos of what the 17 or 19 wheels look like and what the specs are and how they drive?
Also any recommendations for where to look. Currently looking on Facebook and some forums but limited spare time is meaning I need to be picking up quite local to me (Hampshire).
Lastly I have MOT next month so I would prefer to have this nailed in the next 2-3 weeks.

7J17 ET40 and 8J19 ET44 are the OEM sizes.

Just like any car the 17s will give better economy and ride whereas the 19s will look bettter and give better traction off the line in the dry.

Hmm. Hadnt thought about the economy side of things. Maybe the 17s would be better for the winter to claw back some of the lost cold weather range. Tyres should be cheaper too. Is there much traction to be lost with the narrower tyres? (215 vs 235)

I like running smaller wheels in winter. Several reasons why: Bigger sidewall offers more protection if you slide into a curb, the narrow tyres give better traction in snow, and the economy benefit.

I've gone with the heart and purchased some Audi wheels in 8.5 x 19 et48. Should fit nicely with the outer face only a couple mm further out than my stock rims. They need a refurb so colour recommendations warmly received. Also need to get some centre caps as the ones fitted are Audi. Then some rubber. Probably pilot sports or eagle f1s. Unless someone also has a tyre recommendation that goes well with the gte.

Double check the centre bore of the alloys you’ve bought. Most Audis are 66.5 whereas most VWs are 57.1.

No biggie, you just need a spigot ring for the 66.5.

any pics of the wheels?

I’ll be interested in your tyre findings. I HATE my tyres. I always rated the Toyo T1-r on my Skyline but have no idea what to put in the GTE.

Apologies for the awkward angle. Put a soggy bit of worktop on top to keep the rain off and it heavy as a very heavy thing.
As you can see they need some attention so I've already contacted my local refurb place. Probably going with a similar colour to the stock Dartford wheels (anthracite?). Also the design is not a million miles away so should look good 🤞

A small part of me thinks I should get some ev specific tyres but not sure. A mate has an ioniq 5 with pilot sport EV. He thinks they could be Hyundai/Kia specific but I'll take a look either way.

Wheels look nice. Subtle.
Those pilot EV’s have awful wet performance. 😩
