So we are about to launch into the EV world, all being well, this week. We keeping thinking of new questions! Lol

We currently get our MOT and repairs done by a local garage, I very much doubt they have a huge amount of EV knowledge. Can they still do our MOT? Do you need to take it to a dealership for repairs or do most towns have a specialist EV independent mechanic? Would you trust your wee local garage with yours?

We are buying second hand, and the one we are likely to get is from an independent place which is further than we would choose for repairs and maintenance etc.

MOT can be done anywhere.

For anything like brakes, suspension and tyres you can use any place you trust.

You can even find specialists who will do a service on EVs.

MoT's can be done by and authorised testing station.
With regard to servicing; bear in mind that a lot of EV makes include 12 months recovery in the cost of their service, if carried out at the make's dealership.
I find, if you factor in the recovery cost then the actual cost of a dealership service is not that bad.

Probably worth mentioning that servicing price varies even between official main dealers.

Also, not all items (such as pollen filter) are mandatory. If you skip this bit or do it yourself you can save a few quid.
