Vehical Kia eNiro. I'm new to EV. 95% of the time all charging will be done at home, but sometimes I will need to buy power elsewhere. For example on the occasional longer holiday trips that will be made to France & Spain (maybe 2 or 3 times per yer). Subscription doesn't seem sensible. What do you folks recommend?

Depends entirely where you are headed really.

There are a few free charging options on France and Spain. Have a look at Electromaps fob or Plugsurfing.

They both just cost £10 or so for the RFID and then it’s pay as you go (or free).

Unfortunately in many cases you’re w bit screwed without a fob of some kind.

You might find it useful to read this thread about driving through France in a Kona (similar charging needs as the eNiro)

Not surprised the OP is confused. I'm on my 3rd EV and am still confused.

The sooner we get to all charge points allowing contactless bank or credit card payment, the sooner EV drivers will have freedom of the road. As with all commercial enterprises, it is only when customers vote with their feet that changes will be made.
