Hi all,

Recently I went from a MIB1 to a MIB2 :)

All works, there are just some minor VCDS tweaks I need to do to make it perfect... is there anyone here who wants to share his/her Controller channel map with adaptations and coding? This would be very much appreciate! :)

Thanks in advance!

ps: Performance monitor works as well!

Looks great that, I shall be following with interest!

Unfortunately, even though I do have VCDS, I only have the MIB1 otherwise would have gladly helped.

Does that mean you have a work around for the car specific coding issue?

Hi Chillout, I recently did the upgrade and I am very happy with it (mostly Android Auto). I also have got VAS5054a, so tell me how can I help you with the mapping, I would be glad to do it.

By the way, after the upgrade I have some issues that I need to solve:

1. Every time I switch on the car I get a warming message after 3 minutes about some malfunction in between the traffic signals recognition system and the MIB2. I've been told that this can be solved via a camera software update.

2. In this model (MIB2) there is no specific menu to choose between hybrid modes. Instead, there is a window that should pop up when you press the e-mode button. But this is not working in my2015 cars so I cannot select another mode like battery charge or hybrid auto.

Does it happen to you as well? How did you solve it?

I'm going to update my post:

1. Solved. Thanks to APG and their great patience we manage to update the firmware of the front camera and now it works fine.
2. Nothing new. Asked about a firmware upgrade of the hybrid control module at the dealer, but nothing. They cannot perform any coding operation that is not covered by the maintenance and guarantee specifications. I'll be seeking for other options.

Hi Alfinga, did you mean A5 module error "U112100 - Databus missing message"?
I have the same problem after change my MIB1 to new MIB2 unit.
What software version of A5 module do you have now? Was update done by VW dealer or other specialists?
Was camera calibration needed after upgrade?

Greetings
Jacko

I've been looking around to fix this, comparing my car to a MY2016 GTE which does have this hybrid mode indicator on the MIB2 screen. The only difference is the Gateway firmware version. I have the right firmware for it, but I'm still lacking the parametrisation file... this is needed to configure the gateway for my car for this specific version. When this is done, it should all work.

Chillout - try compare ID of FeC codes with those GTE. You need to make "developer mode" active. Press MENU till "service menu" appear, then go to Function Codes(FeC/SWaP). Just compare ID of codes, for example mine of MIB2 (after CP remove) are:

1) 00060900 Temporary invalid
2) 00060800 Temporary invalid
3) 00060300 Temporary invalid
4) 00060100 Temporary invalid
5) 00030000 Temporary invalid
6) 00050000 Temporary invalid
7) 00070200 Temporary invalid
8) 09300008 Temporary invalid
9) 00040100 Temporary invalid

If you have "Performance Monitor" feature that means next one FeC code you should see for, it.

Hi Jacko, mine was done for the same guys I bought the MIB2 from (APG). They updated the whole firmware for A5. I don't remember the version but I'll try to look into my files. After the upgrade I needed another file containing the parameterization of the new software version (let's say the firmware comes with no info from the car). I think they got it from VW (don't know how). And that's all, no calibration needed afterwards.

Which version do we need (gateway). I'm trying to convince APG (not for free ) to do the upgrade. Maybe I get the parameterization file.

It will be great :)
Probaly you have 5Q0980653G with software version 0060 now. Please let's check it, if you can.
How APG was process the upgrade - it was remotely via VCDS? Thats interesting :)

In case of "Hybrid options" on e-mode button - it sounds similar like "Driver Mode Selection Feature", that's mean it is based on FeC/SWaP probably. In non-electric car it can be improved via 5G0054809 set from VW Accesories Store.
Try compare FeC codes with other VW e-cars.

Jacko

Hi Jacko, I checked but I don't have it with me, it's on my "diagnosis laptop". But I'll look for it within this week.
The upgrade was done via remote diagnosis with ODIS Engineering and TeamViewer... interesting but a bit scary (it crashed a couple of times and with all the warning sounds and lights I thought I was inside a Christmas tree ).

Thank you Chillout - that explains a lot of things. Still unknown is FeC ID of "Driver Mode Selection", you need to compare FeC IDs within electric cars to find correct one. Maybe it will be the same like non-electric.

You can also activate the function display for drive program functions in Instrument Cluster. This function is good alternative for MIB display.

Instruction:
Go to module 19 - CAN Gateway
-> Long coding
-> Select Byte 8
-> Activate bit 4 "Display for drive program functions in Instrument Cluster active"

For me it sounds extreme experience :)
I will be very gracefully, if you can look for it and write here your present version of A5-camera.
I need to do "flashing" also, the same fault message with MIB2 unit was displayed.
Thank in advance!

Yes, I know of this function and this is working correctly. The problem is, it will not allow the car to switch to modes like the mode that forces battery charging while driving. I'm pretty sure the gateway update will fix this.

What is diffrence between those FeC's?

VW dealer by ODIS was written to my MIB2 DP FeC-code from my MIB1.
Now I have one "active" FeC.

Code:
1) 09100008 Active <- This FeC is from my MIB1 DP, and it include my VIN
2) 00060900 Temporary invalid <- Those FeCs are from MIB2 and they include donor-car VIN
3) 00060800 Temporary invalid
4) 00060300 Temporary invalid
5) 00060100 Temporary invalid
6) 00030000 Temporary invalid
7) 00050000 Temporary invalid
8) 00070200 Temporary invalid
9) 09300008 Temporary invalid
10) 00040100 Temporary invalid
so still maps, bluetooth, telephone, voice control and USB does't work... have you any idea?
