This I very much doubt. MG's website lists the 0-60 time for the ZS EV as 8.2 seconds. The Cupra Born is basically an ID.3. The 204PS ID.3 does 0-62 in 7.3 seconds, and the lower output 145PS model in 9.6. I very much doubt that they're going to be selling the 145PS model as a 'performance' version...

The MG specs quoted for 0 to 62 and top speed are incorrect. At least this is the case for a large number of the cars sold. My own car actually will do 0-60 in 7 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 96, whereas officially it tops out at upper 80's with the acceleration time as you quoted. Very odd...

I think a lot of EV 0-100kmh times, as irrelevant as they are I suppose, are deliberately conservative.

I’ve seen reviews measuring the 0-60 time on the ID.3 as sub 7s, note to 60, and not 62 which is a little longer.

Manufacturers probably don’t want to show up their ICE models too much...

Well I'd not expect them to admit knobbling one of thier cars in order to keep sales of an alternative model going, that they don't want to die off just yet...

Hey, I’m not superstitious, but if it brings a plague of yellow error messages and drivetrain errors on me, then I’ll have to start believing in the EV gods, and they will be getting their pound of flesh. 😂

An important fact to remember in life, whether dealing with one's spouse, or even the likes of building control, or authority in general, is its often better to ask forgiveness after the event (if it becomes needed!) than to ask permission (which is often refused!)

Going back to the subject of the plastic hump the below video (at 0:30) seem to confirm that this piece of plastic is for pedestrian head impact protection. Interesting clip anyway:

Just seems a strange choice when the higher bonnet line on the cupra apparently serves the same function with a cleaner look.

I hated the painted black plastic piece of trim on the bonnet of my leaf because it would gather dirt at the point where it and the bonnet met, and it had a very different paint finish (very very soft, swirled up like mad but polished with just a touch of SRP) to the metal panels, so it wasn't friendly for detailing. I would anticipate similar issues with the id3.

I find the design of the gully the wipers sit in quite annoying for that reason. It seems much larger and more prone to gathering filth than other cars & it a pain to clean out. Mine is always full of leaves & needles from trees in my garden.
