GF has recently been annoyed with the London congestion, so she asked me to buy her an electric car. Yesterday she traded in her Prius for a 2016 Soul. I noticed in the pictures there was only a granny charger, so suggested she ask the garage to charge it fully. Then when she gets to me in Reading she can use my podpoint to recharge, and I will give her a spare charging lead.

Needless to say the garage did not charge the car, so gf spent an hour fuming on a Source London 3kw plug yesterday to try and get some juice into it. (She reckons there are no rapids anywhere nearby.) She now intends to go and swap the Soul for an ICE car.

Of course, this is all my fault.

The Soul should have come with a type 2 to type 1 cable to charge at 7kw as well as a granny charger. She should have refused to take it until it was sufficiently charged.

I know, but what option have we? If she takes the £13k Soul elsewhere, she'll be lucky to get a car worth £10k. At least the previous garage have made a profit from us, which should mean she gets a different £13k car.

I knew a well known "marque specialist dealer" who would drain the tank of a car when he bought it and refill it with just one gallon. Strangely when his Father died and he sold the Kosher Butchers shop that his workshop was behind, his new one was at the top of a hill.
