I will try to figure tomorrow morning (not full now). But the low 395 is a fair indication the pack is still not charged to the brim, aka longevity protection.
I will attempt to look up some old canZE grabs (I should have them going back to 2016). All the recent ones (2019) see to max at 395. Car shows as Usable 100% charged by never higher than 97.1% Real state of charge %

Grabs from my ZE40 show a max voltage of 396 / 397 at 100% charge. Lower figure when SOH was at 99%, 397 at 98% SOH. That said, I only see 38-39 kWh..

Isn't that capacity the same for all 40 owners?

I did see 40 in the summer the first year we had it. Nice warm battery etc.. I honestly think 41kWh is almost mythical. Am wondering how close to 52kWh the ZE50 will be. I suspect high 40's is more likely.

Yup. Just have to look at the 200 club to see 39kwh seems most usable.

Sure TeslaBjorn said 48kWh seemed the max usable in his estimation.... then he did his usual saying "maybe this one has a failed cell", excuse!

It was obvious the battery pack was cold when Bjorn tested it so overall capacity would have been lower. Also he didnt' use CanZE as the OBD port had moved and he couldn't find it. Hopefully he can do another test with it on and we'll get better figures overall.

Obvious to whom? He drove it to a charger, charged it to full, did a long test on the car, the pack wouldn't be cold. Sounds like the excuses are already being rolled out. Show me a ZE40 that's got a warm battery in SUMMER that can use more than 39kWh of its 41kWh claimed user available pack.

I didn't watch the video, but gentle driving hardly heats the pack. Now it you drive 120 km/h (75 mph), different story. My Q210 (so there is no way to extrapolate that to a ZE50) then does roughly 1 degree C every 5 minutes.

Other than that, I think where he is now, you can assume a cold start, which decreases kWh density, not Ah capacity.

TeslaBjorn drove really slow, 59mph I believe. So that might add credence to the claim the pack was cold.... however..... he also tested the car a few weeks earlier when it was warm, and drove fast and the results weren't as high as he would have expected then either.

So whats the answer? Was it 1 defective pack, 2? Too cold, too slow? Too hot, too fast? Pre-prod car? Or could it be there just want 50kWh usable to driver? From my perspective I've seen the same thing on the 22, the 40 and now apparently the 50.

I've got an archived capture of CanZE from last summer. Pack temp 22-23oC, total usable 39.9kWh Its the best I've seen.

When warm and 99% charged mine would always say 40 kWh available, and then continue charging for a number of minutes.

Did see 40kWh SOC + 1.6 to full when newer

40 kWh up to March this year, now 39+ (varies with temperature)

Worth noting what the car says is available and what you can actually use don't always tally.

Looking at trip screens after a 100% down to low SOC is more accurate.

I am not so sure that is true. That might be propulsion only. I would have to investigate. But I won't.

You can't refute what you've used.... you can whats claimed, especially if in practice your unable to use it. ;)

I've seen a weird pattern with my Zoe this last few thousand miles. As I predicted my SOH was dropping over time, just like it did PreBMS. At its lowest it was back down to 92% just like it did before it started haemorrhaging health and dropping in chunks until it was 86% but instead of doing what I'd predicted it started bouncing up, and then down, and then up and then down and then up a bit more before dropping a bit less.

So I'll eat my hat at this point. Completely unpredictably but my battery went down the 92% and then over the course of the last few months it went, 93, 92, 94, 96, 98, 94, 96, 92, 96 and now 97 (97 which I've never seen, the SOH seems to like even numbers). Its hard to keep up with how its bouncing around. I thought some of this was due to some testing I was doing to see if I could force a re calibrate (like the Leaf owners do with rapid charges), but frankly I don't think I'm clever enough to work out what the heck was going on because it wasn't always predictable when the SOH would change or which way it was going to go (up or down)

That all said though, on a full charge its often shown 22kwh usable, but i'm still getting very low warning after using as little as 18kwh, sometimes 19kwh. I literally pushed the car to stopping a few weeks back and it hit 20kwh used from a full charge.
I was down to 91% SoH on my Q210, I did a charge yesterday and I’ve jumped up to 97%.

Its bizarre, what you'll also see is a marked increase in available kWh in CanZE just don't try to use them, they're not there.
