Thought it might be interesting to see who’s got the earliest UK delivery date.

We’re “Some Point in April”
GT Line

All production is now on hold until further notice due to COVID-19.

French carmaker Renault to halt production in France
There’s a boat (that was) due to dock on 31st. I’ll make a call later and report back. I doubt they’ll arrive on time though.

Doesn’t affect many of us much really. Non-essential travel’s not allowed anyway and for our own situation, my wife’s on maternity for another 6 months so doesn’t need if for commuting.

I would think that the vehicles already produced and shipped will be delivered to customers. Southampton Port and the dealerships are still working and will want to get whatever cash they can.

Yep, as it stood yesterday it was business as usual in the UK, however I have a feeling all is going to change rapidly.

Was chatting to my manager about it as we are at the end of an important quarter in the UK motor industry, there are targets to hit and bonus payments that dealers rely upon, it'll be interesting to see what happens, as I don't think it will be business as usual for much longer.

We also have customers self isolating, I have a customer due to collect at the end of the month who's self isolating with her elderly mum, she won't want to come out to get her car, do we register it as originally discussed for it to still go towards target, plus the offer she got is based on a March registration, it may sit all registered for months before collection. I've another customer due back from Sri Lanka on Monday, is he even going to be able to get home?

So many variables, the manufacturers; all of them, must give some leeway!

Spoken to my dealer. He emailed RUK yesterday. He’s loads of Zoes from the lease deal he offered a few weeks ago that were supposed to dock with a consignment at Southampton on 31st.

No reply yet, but we agreed realistically with the factory closed and the fact we don’t know if these cars have left yet, French borders now shut, that it’s likely we’re heading that way, lots of people in isolation, lots more heading that way, lots off sick and lots in both countries staying at home to look after their kids when the schools here inevitably close in the next few days, that it’s highly unlikely with all those factors that the car will arrive in time.

Frankly both he and I have bigger fish to fry. His Mother lives in France and was due to come and spend time with his family and their new baby.

We’ve cancelled a family do at the village pub so that my wife’s 83 year old Grandma who lives in the SW could meet her 6mth old Great Granddaughter for the first time.
That may never happen now.

Perspectives are changing. Non material things, people and relationships becoming the only important thing.

Something positive to come out of all this perhaps.

Should be called Physical Distancing, not Social Distancing. We need to throw everything we can at socialising any way we can now.

FaceTime and Google Hangouts are gong to be very busy for the next year or so!

Thanks for keeping us up to date. Was hoping that cars waiting at Le Havre would still be sent over as freight, as that's still moving. Will be a pity if not..

On a lighter note - picked up my car on Monday. Some customer cars were delivered with the dealer demo cars - mine was one. They even covered up the car in the showroom - pulling off the cover for the grand reveal. I even got a present from the dealer - anyone want a Renault pen, torch or mug? The drive back from the garage was hellish - roadworks, diversions and an accident. However comparing the e-208 and the Zoe - I think I made the right choice.
One thing I have noticed is ground clearance. e-208 about 5 inches i.e. clenched fist. Zoe should be able to cope with Somerset roads.

I think your dealer is being very optimistic, from what I have heard, but hasn't been confirmed yet, all Renault France distributions centres are closed and UK distribution centres are on a skeleton staff with a view to closing imminently.

I have 4 ZOE's in the UK, all four should have been here by yesterday, they are now showing 25th , I don't expect to see them any time soon.

Interesting news, Chris. Our dealer told us yesterday that ours is now on a boat, but not yet clear when it may be arriving or processed in Southampton. It seems that Renault aren’t being clear with their dealers about what is actually happening..

My GT Line has now arrived with the dealer but Sales guy is having trouble getting hold of anybody at Renault UK to change the order over from the dealership name to my name (originally ordered as one of their showroom / demonstrator cars). Apparently RUK staff are working at home like a lot of the rest of us, so I guess the wait continues...

Even if cars arrive on freight there needs to be staff to process and deliver, most will be shut down in next week. Renault is effectively closed in France. I imagine it will take months to catch up, things won’t be normal until end of year.

I work for a local authority and today we had a military officer come in to a disaster planning meeting. This is really serious, MoD are sending military experts to help plan civil contingencies already!

Congratulations @Badger in Black on delivering your first Zoe ZE50. Your customer is very happy. Now...please where’s mine? The same colour would be nice, or even the Celadon blue ;)

(Saw three of your cars waiting to be repaired/serviced at my local Renault dealer the other day. Two belong to e-car Club and the other had a registration number very close to mine. I’m an e-car Club member and hired a Zoe for a month from Europcar before getting my evezy one. So you’ve supplied all my Zoes to date...so don’t let me down now!)

My Dealer, during the conversation yesterday, said they would like to register mt GT-Line as a March car!
I refused saying I wanted it registered in the month I took possession of it, he wasn't happy but reluctantly agreed. My argument being that if delivery was delayed I could be having a 6 month old car.
Apparently Renault dealers have high targets in March.

My dealer says they’ve got all sorts of issues with customers not being able to collect because they’re self isolating, ill, or just don’t want to take the risk of ignoring social distancing advice either at their homes or on site.

Says he’s not seen a soul for over a week.

Think the dealers realise this is the last chance they’ll have to register anything for some time.

Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see even some of the bigger franchise networks going under. They were already struggling with the whole diesel thing.

A lot of chatter in motor-noting circles about firms like We Buy Any Car at the mo. Bids are now around 60% under CAP guide price and they’ve been cancelling appointments for buyers to take their cars in to swap for cash. Seems they literally aren’t buying anything. Manheim have just zeroed their online auction fees. Seem the motortrade is completely dead.

It’s a brave person who buys a new car with their own money or a personal loan for the next year or so.
COVID-19 is revaluing or rather devaluing everything.

Called into our dealer today as we were literally passing the door.

our car was due to be built such that it would be released from the factory on 28 April. But now, along with the other 2 the Dealer has orders for, there’s a big red X next to it.

so hopefully it will arrive in the summer some time. Swmbo’s current car is due back on 27 May so looks like we’ll be down to one practical car for a bit.

on more positive news, the charger is due to be installed on Saturday, per confirmation received this morning. Will be able to look longingly at the charger at least
