ChargemyHyundai. New Ionity subscription?

As a Ioniq 5 P45 owner, I got 2 years of ChargemyHyundai with the RFID card so no monthly subscription cost and also cheap rate Ionity rapid charging at just 25p/kWh. A pretty incredible deal it must be said. Especially in light of the energy price rises and higher charge tariffs from all EV Charge networks across the board. 70-75p/kWh seems to be the standard price..

I was expecting to be notified by CmH or Ionity about the new subscription rate but never was. As I joined CmH/Ionity on 12th September 2021, it lapsed 4 days ago.

I contacted CmH customer services. He seemed to suggest there was no monthly subscription fee for the CmH RFID card, but did not know or could not tell me what the Ionity rate would be.

I have looked on the website under the Flex Tariff but I find it confusing. I have also received emails recently about the tariff costs but this seemed to give info about roaming abroad in Europe.

Is there still a cheap deal for Ionity?
Have I automatically be rolled over on to that new subscription. ÂŁ11.99/month or is it more?
The guy from CmH did not seem to think that would happen. He just said my contract would expire on the 12th September after 2 years anniversary, but did not know what would happen after that.

Any pointers? Due to my Ioniq 5 P45 being off road in the dealership for a while, it may be worth going for a Tesla subscription instead? Or is there still a cheap rate for Ionity or is it now 50p+/kWh?

Do I go through Ionity to find out or ChargemyHyundai?

Ionity add-on to CmH/KiaCharge is now monthly (so you can subscribe for just a month for a holiday or long trip), and is only ÂŁ6.90 rather than ÂŁ11 or whatever it was. But it now only gives a 15p discount on Ionity, not the 69p->25p it used to. This is from 1st October I think - so you did well to in getting the full 2yrs of the included benefit!

Depending on what usage you make of rapids you might be better off with Elli which on the ÂŁ15 monthly deal gives you Ionity at 44p and other networks at 66p.

Or just use Electroverse (no fee) for 63p Ionity and a similar small discount on many other networks.

Note that the base price per unit at Ionity in France and much of Europe is lower than here, so although the CmH and Elli card benefits work abroad, they may not provide quite as much value as you might have thought.

Having just come to the end of a VW/Ellie WeCharge contract and looked at the options, I have come to the conclusion that the way forward for occasional rapid charge use is to pay as you go using Electroverse where ever I can.

You would have to do a lot of fast charging to get back the monthly cost for the Hyundai or Ellie subscription as the per kwh costs are not discounted as much anymore.

Rapid charging is upto twice the cost of filling up with diesel. Lucky I mainly charge at home.
