TBH I'm not sure I would give this resolution much thought. After the hassle this year I want rid and don't think I'll touch another Stellantis EV with a barge pole.
It's a pain though. You can't do anything until they fix it and then there's no guarantee it will stay fixed either.

I wonder if a partial refund option could be done to at least end the PCP and walk away and just get something else without you forking out to get rid of a faulty car?

I emailed everyone at Vauxhall, Stellantis and the PSA group to ask politely what they are going to do about my air-con not working since the recall. So far, a week now, I haven’t been favoured with a reply.
I was struggling to get a meaningful reply from Vauxhall until I started copying

Paul.Willcox@vauxhall.co.uk

Into the emails. I very quickly got a single point of contact after that and they started getting more involved.

Just realised he's gone as of the start of the month. Might be worth trying to find an email address for his replacement.

So I received this message after fast charging at a pod point charging station, which seems to be a common issue. However I can't find anyone else with the exact error message that I have.
This has to be a Stellantis software or hardware problem… too many posts about this issue effecting, Vauxhall, Opel, Peugeot, Citroen.

My story is almost the same… Peugeot e-208: error message came on, stopped car, wouldn’t start again, locked in park break, couldn’t engage gear. Flatbed truck to Peugeot, lots of errors showing on diagnosis computer, no idea of root cause, Peugeot HQ seemed oblivious of the problem (like it was the first time it had ever happened), workshop did replace an electrical component under warranty and reset all errors, car working fine. That was the first time, in March 2022. It happened again a few weeks later, but the disconnect-the-battery-trick, cleared the error and got me going.

Same problem occurred again last August 2023, but this time nothing could get it going, so back to the workshop. Again, complete blank face about the problem (even though it was the same workshop!), Response from Peugeot was different “The engine is broken and needs to be replaced. Oh, and you’re out of warranty”. I respectfully said I would like a second opinion and had it transported to a different Peugeot dealer in different town. They have cleared error messages. Also said they applied two firmware updates, one for ECU, the other for AirCon (a short-circuit timer has been modified to only trip after 1-second of continuous short-circuit… apparently metal fragments in the aircon system could trigger a short-circuit, so the delay is extended so fragments can be blown off the short. (??). Car moving now, but error messages still shows… just not locking the car in zombie state.

Outcome… Actively trying to get Peugeot to acknowledge the error and fix it under warranty (since the fixed something in 2022). Will never buy French/Italian/Stellantis ever again. (I had an electrical system problem in my Peugeot 407 years ago… should have learnt). New Tesla 3 on order… leasing.

My Corsa is currently at the dealer's for this fault. In our case it wasn't caused by a faulty charger, it came on as my wife was driving. As it didn't seem to affect the car in any way, we ignored it for a while, driving over 500 miles during the next few weeks. The car was booked in for another look at the proximity locking issue, brought on by the body controller software update, so they could look it both problems. They have had it for a week, so far with no news.
Hello,

What was the proximity locking issue? Was it something that you had to unlock your car in a particular way?

Hello, I’m new to the thread. I’ve had my corsa-E since end of March and it’s been in and out of the garage. First with issues unlocking/ locking with the key and now the Electric Traction System fault. The fault was supposedly repaired two weeks ago after a two week stint in the garage and back again for the same fault. With no update on when it will be sorted. Luckily got a hire car but does anyone know if this fault is actually fixable?
My warranty runs out in November and concerned on potential future costs.
Hello,

Do you have any updates about your car? Thanks.

After an earlier update, the car would automatically unlock as I approached the car, and lock as I walked away. We really liked this feature, but then there was a recall for a 'body' software update which stopped it working. Various attempts were made to restore the feature but without success.

Update on the traction system fault:

I needed to get some bits from the car, so I visited the dealer last week. We found the car in a corner of the workshop looking a bit forlorn. I was told that they were going to replace the traction unit (i.e.motor) again (I was unaware it had already been replaced once). Apparently the replacement worked until a software update was attempted, but that bricked it. They seemed confident that I will get it back soon, but I'm not holding my breath.

Hi, new to the thread but have this error since getting our corsa back from a service. No issues with the car at all but unfortunately it's just out of warranty. I feel its just a computer glitch after the service as similar has happened before but they are quoting us 3000 odd to fix the Aircon. I have no confidence that they have a clue and think the quote is to get rid of us. Unsure what to do next... we need a bigger car due to second baby anyway but how do I get rid of a car with an error light on it?

I would try contacting Vauxhall direct. This is a well known fault that going by the forum seems to be a matter of when, not if. It's linked to a recall that you should ensure has been done. If not and an AC compressor replacement is required I would be fighting tooth and nail with Vauxhall to cover it given how common it is.

After the absolute ball ache I went through with mine last year I genuinely feel for you.

Yes it's going to be a pain whatever we do. What recall is it linked to? I looked up the opel website for recalls (am in Ireland) and added the car details and it didn't link it to any recalls. Now it has been into the garage for a recall as I remember but I don't know think it was related to this. Where do you have the recall info from? Thanks

Not unusual tbh, it took them 3 attempts before it was properly fixed. I was in hire/courtesy cars for 7 months and a day. It would appear Andy is taking the record 😬

The recall is for the software governing the AC compressor in that a small electrical issue causes the car to throw the traction system fault message. I had it throw the message and still work but twice it locked the car in park, once in the driveway and once completely blocking a road.

If you search the forum you'll find a few horror stories about it happening to folk when driving. Stellantis really drag their heels with repairs, the wait for parts is insane. In the end they replaced the on board charger, parts of the wiring loom and the AC compressor on mine. Its been running fault free for 3 months now. They must be hemorrhaging money on hire cars for people. I'm now out of warranty but bought an extended one through a third party as I have no faith in thr car now. As soon as the PCP is over the car will be gone.

It's a shame as it's genuinely a lovely little car to drive and when if you find the right deal it can be relatively good value. Stellantis are just so poor at fixing them when they break. I'll never buy another Stellantis vehicle again 😒

So I have had the Electric traction system fault: repair needed since June, three attempts to repair but not fixed so far. Waiting for parts. BUT, last week we hade temperatures a bit lower than normal here in the northern parts of Sweden, -35°C, and the error is now gone. Reappeared after the first time, but despaired again. Drove 20 km to work this morning and no error. Wonder for how long...

Long may it last! What parts do they say they are waiting on to repair or what have they tried? The garage I have been to seem to have no answers or plausible suggestions. Trying to gather as much info before I go back to them or someone else. I've also had it in twice but with no solution.

We finally got our car back after 7.5 months. We put nearly 7k miles on the loan car, so ours is a low mileage now (<9,000 miles/year). All seems OK so far (drive back from dealer). They keep telling different stories about what has been replaced; battery, motor, charger. I looked under the bonnet but can see no obviously new parts.

While I was looking in the engine compartment, I noticed that I could see the drive underneath, and I don't remember being able to do that before. So I got down on my knees and looked under the car; I could see 3 rectangular holes across the front of the under-tray. I called the dealer and was told that it was part of the repair, and that there were 3 more holes cut in the tray further back. I thought that the main purpose of the tray was to protect the compartment from water and road debris?
