I’m not a fan of ‘one pedal’ driving.
I agree, it feels really unnatural to me. I like to drive the way I learned - full freewheeling unless I'm on the power and on the brakes if I want to slow down or stop.
I first experienced it in a hired BMW i3 and absolutely loved it. With a little practice it's very easy to find the right spot on the throttle to either coast or slow down to stop precisely where you want to. I drove all the way from central Glasgow to Ayr (including 2 charging stops - long story but if I say "BP Pulse"...) without touching the brakes once. And I loved throwing it around some of the twistier country roads without having to swap pedals.
I've test driven various EVs, none of which had a full one pedal mode and I missed it. Thrilled to discover that the Niro EV I've ordered (test drive soon, apparently) does have an "i-Pedal" mode.

Well, each to their own I guess!

What I love about the EV6 is how variable the regen is. In town I'll drive around in i-pedal whilst on some back roads I'll be on level 2-3. On the bypass/motorway I'll either be in ACC or leave regen on auto.

Traffic has to be clear from Honolulu to Jerusalem with no cars on the roads in London before my cautious driving wife will make a left turn.

Excruciatingly cautious driver.

When Wifie enters our EV6 with Key# 1 dash reads 321 miles range. Full charge.

I get in with Key #2 and it’ll say 301 miles range full charge.
Different driving styles. Adjusts for more than the mirrors and seats.

Interesting.... so the car does recognise the different keys? In which case why aren't they tied to the different driver profiles?
Will have a test tonight to see if mine does the same.

We’re thinking that or does a very hot garage compared to a very cold garage effect batteries - so indicated estimated range changes?

Or wife drives in ECO mode and I select sport mode?
Or?:

Kia phenomenon.

Its all down to the Drive mode you are are selecting..

So 4 months on, Kia have my order but no news on when the EV6 will even hit build.

Ordered brand new Model Y LR yesterday... ready for collection next week. Go figure.
Not really. Tesla have been struggling with fall in demand in certain markets, maybe the UK is next.

Model Y is a horrible car as well. Looks shit and has shit ride quality.
You forgot the terrible warranty. You also missed the Supercharger network, the lack of servicing requirement, unmatched efficiency, actually quite decent build quality (from China) and extraordinarily strong residual values. It might have a firm ride but it’s still a car a lot of people want.

Enjoy your Kia Niro EV.

Tesla have always been bizarre when it comes to delivery times. When I ordered my M3P it said delivery was 3 months so I ordered the car 3 months before my current car was off-lease. Like @G_GTE, they pretty much immediately texted me that my car would be ready in the next week or so and I should send them the deposit. After several WTF? discussions in the office I called them and explained and they said ‘no problem’ and rolled the car to the next person who had ordered one. This kept repeating itself until my car went off-lease and I picked up the M3P which did indeed have a very firm ride but I suspect had it been softer I would have crashed it even faster than I did.

I do thanks. It has a 7 year warranty. Service every 2 years or 20,000 miles which is hardly onerous.
Supercharger network is passing into irrelevance as more public sites open and even some Tesla sites open to us oiks.
Build quality of my Kia is fine. Efficiency is good enough for it to perform as I expected.

I just happen to think the 3, X and Y look boring, almost what a kid would draw.
I get a lot of people want them, I don't. I think I'm allowed my own opinion.

Per my original post. I'd be more than happy with either the Kia EV6 or Tesla M3/Y. Both have pros and cons. Hence this thread to see what everyone else's thoughts were.

EV6 IMHO looks better, nicer cockpit, HDA2, sunroof, V2L, 350kW charging and fast 5.2s.

Model Y, more space, slightly faster 5s, software works, supercharger network and navigation integration, tesla app works. I don't need Autopilot. I will miss Android Auto.

Kia HDA2, Tesla TACC (auto pilot 1st level) is enough, and works like what I'm used to in Passat ACC.

My 3 years are up on my Passat GTE hybrid and I needed something this year.

Kia's EV6 manufacturing capacity and supply chain is not nearly enough to keep up with such an impressive award winning car.

Tesla is not pretty, and again IMHO theyre common, but I am still overjoyed and grateful to be getting one.

You’re allowed it. You just come across as bit of a twit when someone posts about the new car they just bought and your immediate and only response is that “it’s a horrible car…(which) looks shit and has shit ride quality.”

I can see how it came across that way. I was actually responding to @Todor observation that Tesla have seen a fall in demand. It was more a musing that there are lots of other options now which there weren't a few years ago.
There are much more desirable cars with similar capability and at similar prices now. The Tesla stable are all very meh.

Have you actually read what is covered by the warranty? It’s not 7 years on everything. Quite a lot of (expensive) stuff isn’t covered after 2 or 3 years. Stuff like the infotainment isn’t covered for 7 years. 12V battery is 2 years. And it might not even make 2 years. It was one reason I went for the Hyundai Kona over the Kia because although the Hyundai warranty is only 5 years it covers more for the full 5 years and it’s unlimited mileage whereas the Kia is only 100,000 miles. I do 25K miles per year plus so it was a no-brainer for me.

The Supercharger network is incredible. You roll up, plug in your car and it charges. Very occasionally there is a tiny hiccough, but nothing like the nonsense you get with BP Pulse etc.

You are allowed your own opinion, my question is why you felt the need to share it? Kia dealers are shit. Kia 12V batteries are shit. The rapid charging speed on the Niro EV is so shit It’s a joke. The year 4 service on the Niro EV is £550. The lack of traction on the Niro EV is so awful they reduced the torque and slowed the car down because it was literally shit at hard acceleration. Now, those aren’t opinions, those are facts from someone who has owned Hyundai, Kia and Tesla BEVs. I wouldn’t have brought up any of that, because it seems harsh to criticise someone’s choice. But you felt it was OK so you’re obviously big enough to take it. Enjoy your Kia Niro.

Easy gents.

I haven't experienced Kia or Tesla service yet. My main consideration so far is that Kia is 2 miles away, and Tesla Service centre is 50 miles away.

Let me paint a picture of my current feelings.
Since placing order for EV6, and not getting a confirmed delivery date. I continue looking at many cars in past few months VW ID4 GTX, Skoda Enyaq vRS, Q4 etron, Polestar, EV6 only to discover that lead times are 9months and getting longer, up to 2 years for the Q4.

Then coming full circle to Tesla and its ready within a week.
