Yeah I forget about that one.

There are unfortunately some "wish-list" dots on that map. For example - the black "Planned 2023" dot located just above the "n" in London on the map - well they got turned down planning for Flamingo Park off the Sidcup Bypass (Chiselhurst) by Bromley Council - who dicked them around for a year or more before finally turning it down.

It's not clear to me if they have found an alternative site.

Just a note for those using the St Albans site. It's in a private car park shared by Lidl, Costa and Halfords managed by Euro Car Parks and it's free to use 24 hours per day however between 22:00 and 06:00 you need to text your registration number and the site code to 88440. This is free, but it's listed as a requirement on the signage to avoid a ticket. There's signage at the entrance to the car park that suggests 10 mins is the limit in these overnight hours (it's 3 hours during the day) but it doesn't mention that 10 minute limit on the signs by the chargers. The text reply you receive confirms you are registered to park but to "adhere to the signage that is in place here" so I assume that means 10 minutes.

I stayed for about 15 minutes last night, with 10 minutes of active charging and a couple of minutes either side plugging in/manoeuvring etc so we'll see if I get a ticket.

I must have started a trend though, since 3 other drivers rolled up just after I did at just after midnight, including one couple who had a brand new ID4 that they had owned for only a few hours who asked me to walk them through the rapid charging process.

Sounds like pretty much worst case rules. Hopefully either they are out of date or Fastned will try to have them changed...

From Facebook - 8 space Fastned site in construction in St Helens, WA11 0GR. Ibis Styles hotel car park, pub next door and Starbucks nearby, close to M6 J23.

Nice spot. I’m guessing that’ll be another roofless design like Camborne and Basildon

Edit: and by the look of it 6 connectors (3 dual head Alpitronics) on Day 1 with expansion for up to 8.

Looking at the feed I think it was just social media fun, and not an indication of anything other than a lot of Teslas using FastNed chargers.
