Dear all,

this is my first post so please go easy on me if I've already broken any forum rules!

We've had our 64KWh Kona for a few days now and IT IS BRILLIANT!

My better half is embarking on a 260 mile trip from Cornwall to Birmingham on Saturday to watch a matinee show with a 4 year old and her Mum (what could already be quite a stressful trip!). Having heard all the horror stories of ecotricity chargers should i plan her trip to avoid them or are they generally working now? If so has anyone used one on the M5 recently or is there anything i should know to get them to work and make the trip hassle free?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dave, according to the history info' both the outgoing and return trip totaled approximately 330 miles each day and both days averaged out at 3.3m/kWh travelling with the cruise set to 75mph almost all on motorways or dual carriageways with the climate set to 18/19/20 degrees, fan on 1, 2 or 3, long periods of seat/steering wheel heating, three adults, one child and a boot full. I started each day with 100% and stopped once to charge back up to 80% (pretty sure i arrived each day with about 25-30 miles left in the 'tank').
Unfortunately it seems to have lumped all the different sections of the days into one average so that's as much info as i can find unless you know a way of delving deeper? (Still waiting for the manual to arrive).

Here's an easy, if privacy-destroying solution. Download a free GPS tracker app for your phone. Record one journey, with photos of the dashboard at the start and end. Then we can throw it in a spreadsheet and look at how fast you were going, how efficiently you drive etc.

And then compare it to one of the lead-foot 3.3mi/kWh gang ;-)

Out of interest, what type of charger are they installing at the Route 303 Cafe 5 miles north of Honiton?
