Will it even happen now Osprey have opened just down the road?

I hope so. More options are needed on the A55 and unfortunately it seems there are no facilities at that Osprey site in the afternoon/evenings as the cafe just opens for breakfast/early lunch, which is a pretty major downside.

Added this one to the OP….in planning. Next door to Tesla apparently.

IONITY at Doubletree Hilton, Dartford

If approved it will be the biggest IONITY site in the UK with 24 bays.
The Dartford site received planning approval today 🏆

Anyone know what ever happened to the York site? It's got so many cobwebs now. Are they fake?
Boxes are still there (I was there this morning) - they are really needed as the City Council hub next to them is getting really unreliable in accepting anything other than the BP Pulse app in order to work (apparently the council had (have) not paid the maintenance bill)…

Les Iles de Brissogne would be useful to me but doesn't look like it will be ready by the end of July when I'll be there. Fortunately there's an open Tesla SC at a local commercial centre. The Aosta to Torino autostrada itself is very poorly served.

This is great for North Tyneside which is very poorly served given the demographic and apparent abundance of EV's driving around the affluent suburbs of Tynemouth, Whitley Bay etc. If I'm being picky it's unfortunate that the Ionity site is literally across the road from a proposed EVPoint site - never rains but it pours! But for people living and visiting North Tyneside it means that if you're approaching/leaving via A19 you could charge at Wolviston MFG on the A19, via A1M you have Gateshead A1M Gridserve or Fastned nearby, and coming from or going to the north you'll have the two at Cobalt.
Had a wee check on the application here; the internal target date is Friday 12th July (12/07/2024), and the Agreed Expiry Date is Wednesday 17th July (17/07/2024). We should theoretically hear quite soon.

Village Hotel "Chester" (really Ewloe) planning has been denied.
I think this refusal highlights a couple of the many issues with our current system.
  1. Premise that the status-quo is inherently good/safe – we have absolute not relative requirements on many safety things. Requirements should be, at worst "no-detriment". For this case it might not make any difference, but the current setup could actually be less safe overall than the original plans
  2. The requirement for a full resubmission for this. It should be a 'not sufficient' please update this aspect and then we will approve.
Both of these aspects create deadweight losses for all of us.
