Lack of electric seats on EV's?

Firstly we love electric and i am not moaning about Motability or the scheme at all! but hate the lack of memory electric seats on the EV range of cars available on the scheme at the moment (and it seems across the EV ranges in general)
The wife is a foot shorter than me so when we had the Seat Alhambra we had memory seats.
We want to stick with Electric but she finds it difficult to lean in the car and alter the seat after i have been in it and visa versa. The Kia Soul EV we have now has served us well but she doesn't like the glitchy software that fails to connect to the phones when it pleases and takes an age boot up.
The MG ev4 has the similar set up to the Soul with the drivers seat being electric but is a bit low for her.
None of the VAG group EV's seem to have any sort of electric seats. She has looked at the Renault Megane EV and has short listed it although it has no electric seats but she says its easiest of all to move manually.
Why are electric seats so rare then? is it just on Motability or on EV's in general?
The consensus from the dealers i have spoken to is that its just not really possible due to the cost.
I don't mind paying up to ÂŁ3k deposit but ÂŁ6-ÂŁ7k is a bit too much for us.
Any suggestions on what is available on the scheme that may suit would be appreciated.
We are used to the Kia soul's supposed 280 mile range so don't want to drop lower than that if possible.
Thanks for reading ....

Thanks for the reply, Been to VW today and No VW on the scheme has electric seats anymore as the one he said had them "family edition" is now discontinued.
Niro EV4 also has memory electric seats
The version with memory electric seats is iirc the 4
The new model is now in production apparently but its still ÂŁ5k deposit.
The MG5 has electric seats, and is higher than an MG4.
She doesnt like the MG5 and its ÂŁ5k deposit
Tesla LR and Performance models have Electric memory seats with multi driver profiles as standard, in the price. Not sure about SR+ / RWD models, they will be manual i assume and i dont think you can option them.
The Tesla is not on the scheme so it doesn't come up on my radar.
The mechanism takes up potential under-seat battery space.

Leafs and Zoes you can't (couldn't?) even adjust seat height.

Tesla and the newer cars have flat prismatic underfloor arrangements, so don't interfere so much with internal volumes.

As for electric heated seats, of course all BEVs should have them, along with heated steering wheels and heated front windows. I cannot deduce why these are not present on ALL EVs.
I dont get why either
EV6 and Niro EV has electric seats as default, BMW i4 (and many other BMW model) has a manual option, but most cars delivered with electric seats.

Heated front seats and steering wheel are standard here. Rear seat heating is option in some models.
Niro ev 3 & 4 have them i have found out today.

Thankfully, I've no need to join the Motability scheme although it's good to know that it exists in the event of my future need.

As a result I've no idea what models they include in their range (nor any interest in finding out : it's bound to be different if I ever need to join).

Possibly, they work to some sort of price limit and since electrically adjustable seats are usually only offered on higher spec versions that might explain the omission. However, it's a pretty silly result in that a disabled driver might actually need the facility whereas the rest of us just choose it on a whim.
Exactly my thoughts but i am very happy that the scheme exists and we will live with what we can afford deposit wise or she says she will have the Megane ev as she can reach the slide handle that is biased towards the right hand side of the seat.

Nissan Ariya Evolve spec & above, have memory seats for driver & passenger. Driver also has memory settings for profiles assigned to the key along with easy access settings to move the seat and steering wheel to improve ease of access if it is required.
Nearly ÂŁ8k deposit kills it for us. and also less miles but things may change when the next updated prices and cars are released on 1st of July,

Again, standard on a Tesla. seems the competition have a lot catching up to do.
Not really helpful in this context but thanks for not propagating the myth that some Tesla owners are up their own backsides
Sadly it looks as if it is the scheme not the manufacturer that is restricting the choice ie only lower spec models are available which are often stripped of a lot of the facilities everyone takes for granted which of course should not happen Under such a scheme but the gov of course looks to save money at every turn.
Such items can be standard on more expensive cars like Tesla or higher spec models of standard manufacturers and the big German 3.
My car has heated electric seats and door mirrors with a memory and lumbar function plus the steering wheel is electrically adjustable and seat and steering wheel move to give easier access and egress.
Thanks for the reply and i agree but i am so glad the scheme exists

Are you after memory seats or would electrically adjustable seats without memory function fit the bill?

Memory seats have always been a bit of a luxury add-on so are usually only included as standard in the higher spec models which, unfortunately, you won’t be able to get on Motability due to the entry/mid spec vehicles they offer.

The Kia Niro EV 4 has driver seat memory but even on higher rate PIP it’s £5k upfront.

The MG4 & 5 seem to have electrically adjustable seats but no memory function? The 4 is ÂŁ1k upfront while the 5 seems to be ÂŁ5k.

I'm with the OP in missing the electrically-adjustable memory seats and wing mirrors I have in the ICE car. I'ts a real pain to have ro re-adjust the seats and wing mirrors every time my partner and I swap 'round. And sometimes I forget and don't register it 'till I'm driving off when I realise I'm too high/near and the mirrors aren't right. I can take or leave heated seats/steering wheel but would happily pay the extra for the memry seats and mirrors. Shame, really, as the seats themselves in my little Peugeot e-208 are better than those in my BMW M235i in terms of comfort (once they'be been adjusted right ....).

Unless I missed it, no one mentioned the eNiro, not the latest model but the MY20/21 model... it has an electric drivers seat in the 4/4+ but in all models the front passenger seat is not electric. IMO it is one of the very few issues I have with the eNiro 4+. It is the top of the range and still no electric passenger seat :(

I casn understand not having an electric passenger seat as it isn't a requirement to get to a comfortable driving position, any position for a passenger is a non item as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps memory settings for the drivers seat I can understand.

If both I'd share a single car with my partner I'd prefer to have electric seats with memory for both front seats, but sure, the passenger can spend any time he/she wants to find a comfortable position, but then when the driver is changed the new passenger must start with the fiddling again. That can be avoided if both seats have memory, just recall your setting when needed.

A manual seat is adjustable between notches on the slider, An electric one has much more precise 'fine tuning'.

Well what a difference a couple of months makes. The wife has had another operation on her back with a new spinal stimulator fitted. We have been looking at cars for a while and had settled on the eNero 4, that comes with memory electric seats but she still wanted to look at other cars. Our friend has just taken delivery of a VW ID5 Style Pro, and the wife has fallen in love with it and says if the seat is slid back then (after trying our friends) she says its easy and causes no pain to move it forward. So much so she has ordered one today for delivery in October. So there you go..... takes all sorts i guess and the hours and hours i spent looking were in vain but hopefully she will now be good after her operation and new hardware.
