Led door strip wiring

Hi guys I want to hardwire a couple of door strip leds which come on when the interior lights comes on, so basically when opening the door etc.
Is it ok to solder the positive and negative wires to bulb holder location? Then run the wire through the headliner down the plastic pillar to the door.

You could do it that way.
When I augmented the interior light in a van several years ago I think I attached the wires using Scotchlock connectors, which might be a safer way to do it if the wires are accessible to do it that way.

Yea but where would I crimp or scotchlock? There isn't any wires for me to crimp onto

There should be an accessory illumination rail in the door car to tap into, check the fuse rating. Loads of OEMs have puddle light options now so you can just look up their instructions.
