Will be interesting to see BMWs totals for 24, but their Q1 to Q3 figures were 294,000, up 19% on the same period for 23. This was for fully electric vehicles and made up 16.8% of their world wide sales. Numbers are from a Google search BMW Group posts significant BEV growth in challenging market conditions.
One thing about BMW is that they seems to just went ahead and done the job rather well. There was never a lot of publicity stunts or shouting in the media. Kind of silent invasion 😂. I am the first to admit that the current crop of EV they offer is really good. Pricey of course but really good. I think that in a few more years they will be a really strong player in the market of EV's especially if they offer smaller (not Mini) BMW cars.

TBH, I simply couldn't believe what a bargain it was. It had around 900 miles on the clock when I bought it and it had just about every option available for the 250 Premium Plus. The dealer was exceptionally keen to get me to buy it before the end of the month, though. I popped in there to look at it on Saturday 27th July and the sales lady was adamant that I could only have it for that price if I took delivery by the following Wednesday. Not a problem for me, as a cash buyer, especially given the price. I can only assume that they, or she, had a sales target to meet by the end of the month. The same chain of dealers had around 4 or 5 similar age and spec models at that price, too.
The best time to buy a car from a main dealer is end of quarter or end of the year. Years and years ago I bought S class on 29th of December. Pre registered on the 1st of December and for almost 35% down on the original asking price. The way the dealer see the car, on the 1st of January the car is year old. It didn't bothered me, 18 months later I sold it TO a dealer down south for the same money I've bought it for 😁

Well, they lost my intended purchase when I noticed the horrendous depreciation of their EQA model. Yeah, they all depreciate when you drive off of the forecourt, but £20K? No thanks.
On a flip side...we bought my wife EQA for almost £21K less than new, with just a few miles on the clock and with full warranty 😆

Does mean that my 3 month old ex-demo EQA was something of a bargain, though! List price was north of £60k, I paid exactly £40k. It was, to all intents and purposes a new car with a whopping great discount.
Well thats 33% "discount" right there....usually a 3 years old car with about 40K on the clock is considered to drop in value by that much, so you are good for at least another 2 years 😄
