It should be more efficient that an aeroplane, so more able to do the distances, and I guess safer as it's not going to fall out of the sky so far up when the battery goes flat or catch fire! [/sarc]
But, seriously, I think that's a bonzer idea. Well done to someone for making it, well done to SH&I for taking the punt, hope it works out.
I'd be wary on the range of sea states it would be fit to operate in, but there again it might even cover more sea states than fewer.
