Has anyone had any communication from Tomato about the new tariffs when the initial 12 month fix expires? Mine expires in less than a month so thought I would have heard something by now.
I would presume they will increase somewhat but surely they should give decent notice.
Let's hope they don't notice and it just rolls over.

So ... ssshhh!! No-one ask, else they might.

Whats the fair usage like on them? Currently on a EE pre-paid SIM that works out about a tenna a month, but I need two and flip flop them (dual SIM router) as the FUP is 600GB/mo and EE have started to enforce it by downgrading speeds. As I use the connection for work, I can't afford for it to randomly drop to dial up speeds 🤣
So far the smarty data only sim £20pm is working without issue. Only problem is the house layout means the 4g router can’t cover all rooms. So this weekend installing an access point so all should be good then. Cheers

SSSHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see them making progress. What was the Provisional Order these were served?

Closure of this investigation has no impact on, and should not be associated with, the Provisional Order served to Tomato Energy on 10 April 2025.
EDIT: seems it is the order stopping them taking on new customers?

.

Just going to sit out TE as no EV atm so a very low user ~£45pm plus just started final complaint with Octopus so not really in the mood for more changes. Plus at second property had three suppliers since June so refunds due there too. Energy companies and hoarding our money…

Their website says they are still not taking new customers. Given the terms of the Ofgem order, that would suggest that they have still not satisfied Ofgem that they have the necessary capital and liquidity, nor the robust financial systems they need, since the sales ban only lasted until they did satisfy them. That is separate from the issue that they have recently settled, and also from the new investigation into whether they are meeting their smart meter obligations.

It's a funny old world. Since June dealt with six suppliers.

Best for no issues

Joint first - EDF, UW, OutFox the Market & Tomato Energy
Second - BG [Had to call twice to get monthly bills restarted]
Third - Octopus [great tariffs but consistently shit for everything else]

Edit, when I say Octopus have great tariffs I’m probably remembering the good old days. Between both properties their prices esp the standing charge are high.

£250 per customer? Some of whom pay that per month?

Really? They'd bankrupt a company by pulling a licence over that piddly sum?

In that case, I'd suspect the Big Generators really do have OFGEM in its back pocket?
If it's such a piddly sum then they'll have no problem in paying it and showing the regulator that they're financially solvent.
