Following going to Disneyland Paris and back last month nothing feels unusual about the EV life

Just feels like I'm driving just a car. I drive where I want to go and drive back

Nothing feels like I'm doing anything different from what I did for years in my ice cars

Just don't visit fueling stations very often as I fill up at home

Now that's progress no? Making EVs just feel normal
An excellent description

Completed the usual 250 mile road(and stena ferry) trip to Aberdeen in one charge (took the Id3 (58kwh)as wife hasn't driven the Ix1 yet)- the active cruise control is brilliant.
Arrived with 10% Now looking to get charge prices as low as possible as here for 2 weeks (no home charge as in apartment)- Tesla overnight 35p looking good !

It does to me. Just plug the car in when I get home and unplug when I drive away. Never (well, very rarely) have to visit a petrol station or charging station. It is almost like having a perpetual motion machine.

Went on holiday in Cornwall

That's my experience.
One thing I miised out was that I think the range killer on this trip was the long rolling hills - too much uphill not enough regen going back down!
Otherwise the car did very well no problems or even a hint of one.

So as we arrived outskirts Aberdeen Saturday ID3 had the amber warning below 20% charge left (think it went to 12 or 14 didn't really take note)-car hasn't moved in 2 days looked this morning it's back up to 20% ! Range 75 miles .
I assume the pack cooled n recalibrated as voltages came back a little ?

I drove 16 mile round trip to work. After having my shoulder and biceps rebuilt, that's enough for me. First time it hasn't ached after, so gradually building up driving time. Aim is eventually to do Reading - Bristol return to see the crinkles, but that's about 2 hours each way depending on roadworks/accidents.....

Ouch ! Yeah 2 hours into our trip had to stop for lunch/walk etc but did find shoulder was painfull -I do leg ligament stretches seems to reset my bad (crunchy) back -our base Id3 has no lumbar adjustment ,next car def will have massage function !

Discovered that trying to buy another EV is much harder than expected. Thought I could just rock up to a main dealer with a selection of used cars on offer :( Only one for sale in my 100+ mile radius. So about a six hour round trip plus stops and actual viewing... Almost zero free time atm, sigh, lol!

Sympathise, took me a long time to work out, eventually a personal trainer worked out that my "back" pain was, in fact, coming from incredibly weak and tight hamstrings and quads. Now I do twice daily squats, lunges and stretches I rarely get a problem. Sitting is the worst, massage function sounds good!

It will be a long time, if ever, before I get back on a bike, rode into a tree at 12mph, the tree won. Can't risk another injury like this. I use a stationery bike to keep "mobile" but it's not the same. I have managed to work up to swimming half a length, 24 lengths to go to get back to where I was. Lifting 500g only, until I can get my arm straight, then want to get back to 5kg. Sorry, completely O.T, just looking for sympathy, it's a l o n g recovery.....

So sorry to hear that.

Just received a text from my mum saying she has a cracked pelvis from a fall and I'm stuck for the whole morning on dumb corporate Teams calls :(

Been there too, it's stressful. They might not operate depending how/where the crack is. MIL broke both hips almost a year apart, refuses alarms, managed both times to bum shuffle to her phone, took her an hour. She's 94 stubborn but refuses all help, hope you're able to get away if you need to....

Not something I've done, as the Ioniq 5 is with a local body shop, after someone damaged it in a car park. However it's something the car did yesterday, after it was taken to the body shop. I got a phone alert, saying that the speed notification limit had been reached. So I looked on the app, and found the driver had done 83 MPH our vehicle. He also managed to take 12 % off the SOC in a 16 mile trip, so he has obviously been using the accelerator excessively.
Not too happy I must admit.

Now that is squeaky bum territory. Never been brave enough to take our ID3 that low. 14% may have been my minimum.
I aim for under 10% every time on a long trip :D
Although our ID3 has not been doing too much this week, just local runs.

I took the ID4 on a climbing trip out to Snowdonia yesterday after I got a last minute morning off work. A lovely day. It was notable from an EV perspective only because the GOM said 320 miles when I got in(!) I've never seen it that high before. Of course it dropped fairly quickly once I got up to speed on the A55...

Left Wharncliffe planning a two stopper but snuck it in to a single stop 😄 View attachment 212257
Nothing wrong with utilising the full capacity of the battery (unless you’re Dr Dahn 😂).

After getting front tyre repaired on the 290 on Monday, I changed travel plans and calculated I had enough electrons to get to the destination 50 miles away. Guess-o-meter was reading initially about 4 miles more remaining than GPS distance. Remaining left at destination was estimated 0% although it did drop to -1% along the way…so perhaps a bit squeaky

Notwithstanding I was confident that I could improve on the pessimistic GOM just driving normally and as we approached destination, the margin between GOM mileage left and miles to travel was steadily improving to around 10+ miles. GPS predicted left was now 1%. Happy days.

Got there with 2% left. Unfortunately the GOM stops predicting miles left at the 5% mark so you’re just reading red dashes. But at 1-2% there was at least 10 miles left in there, if not more.

Darn efficiency. I’ll try again 😂 good to know how deep you can go.
