Windscreen wipers

I’ve come to the conclusion that my wipers need replacing already. I thought that maybe it was the ceramic coating affecting the wipe but now I realise that it may just be poor OEM wipers.
I’ve had bad history with buying wipers so would appreciate any details if anyone has already replaced them on the NIRO EV MY22.
I’ve used many a ‘guide’ only to find the wipers don’t overlap ( a patch of windscreen touched by neither wiper ) or the length doesn’t cover an adequate amount of the screen and is too short. I’m a tall lad at 6’2” so need to make sure the wipers cover the screen as fully as possible. So…any practical suggestions as to make to buy/avoid and actual sizes for front wipers would be good. Not fussed where I get them from so if anyone has good advice there too I’m always open to getting a good/fair price ( and a Blue Light discount 👀 ). Usually would go with Bosch but open to advice/recommendations.

Thank you. I checked out three different sites and got 3 different wiper sizes so happy to have someone else confirm what I thought was correct ( even though one site stated - NO! NOT FOR YOU- DON’T BUY THESE….or words to that effect).

So…swapped over my wipers for ‘Bosch Aerotwin AR 141 S’ ( includes 650mm and 400mm front wipers in set ). I can see the wipers supplied with the car were hybrid type ( Wiper types ) and I can see why I was missing sections on the windscreen as the wiper wasn’t as flat against the screen as I am used to with the flat type. The sizes are same as the originals I took off but tempted to go up a size to 425mm or more on the passenger front to get a bit more coverage. It’s a shame that the wipers were not better quality to start with.. my wife’s new Sportage HEV has nice flat wipers and again passenger side bigger than any of the websites suggested ( they say 400mm) even though it’s a 450mm wiper fitted.
In summary, the OEM wipers are pants. Replace quickly… there may be wiggle room on passenger side for longer than original if you’ve got a bigger size handy.

If I am reading the comments correctly the front blades are the same as were on the previous generation Niro. i.e 650 and 400 . However I gather that it might be possible to substitute sizes up to 425mm for the passenger side.

Aerotwin sets are A977S (650/425) and A350S(650/400)

Individual blades are AR16U (400) AR17U (425) AR26U (650)

Yep. I’m going to order a 425mm passenger side to see if it fits - just for the heck of it.
only fly in the ointment is making sure The sets or individual wipers have hook type fitting or come with adaptor. I was disappointed in the OEM wipers and have instantly seen an improvement on fitting new ones…only took this long as I had been thinking ‘ new car, can’t be the wipers, must be the ceramic coating or something else’. Dark wet winter mornings that I’ll not ‘ see’ again 🫣

Hard to see but new phone has a macro mode camera so took these photos of the 650mm drivers side ( UK based ) wiper. I was unhappy with the wipers as they seems to be ‘upside down’ and were clearing the windscreen better when going up rather than when returning to rest position - I had smears on the screen after using the wipers.
No manufacturers name but did manage to capture some information - the first photo is a close up of the external shroud ( stamped onto this part ) the second photo is info stamped onto the articulated part of the wiper that is inside the shroud. Anyway…seems to me that either:
A: these are standard between UK, EU, rest of the world and not country specific.
B: these have been fitted incorrectly
C: I haven’t a clue about these things and just had a duff wiper blade.

answers on a postcard to Ken Bruce c/o a grateful nation.
