12V battery replacement

Hi!

For no reason whatsoever, my outlander has completely knacked its' 12V aux battery.

Having checked, the battery output was only 9V, dropping to 8.5V when trying to power up the car.

Used an external jump pack, started it, and it's being charged at 14.5V (ie correctly).

Unsure why it died, as nothing was left on, but I have no confidence in the battery if it was flattened to 9V or so.

Where can I get a new one? (other than Mitsu) I haven't see any official battery part number/spec?

Well.... I agree with you.

Most places however, just say "No parts available for your vehicle", including for example Halfords' battery checker.

It turns out that the ORIGINAL battery is as follows (mine is a 2015 'pre facelift' GX4H.)

Yuasa S46B24L(S) - 45Ah CCA - 325A
Size: (LxDxH): 238x129x227mm

It is compatible with this one:
Yuasa Silver HSB053 from Halfords
or the HB053 from Halfords (cheaper)

In case anyone else needs to know!

Well you already answered your question brother .

Get minimum of 45 AH. And minimun of 325 Amps just like the original Yuasa.
Just check the size as there isn't much room there to fit bigger one.

Stronger battery is always fine but weaker will just die shortly after refit.
