Lol, who would comply with that?

 

I just went to my Tesla account on the web and my account on the App. There is no such a request, so 100% scam

 

There’s a suggestion over at TMC that there may be a link to those who have (or had in the past) finance through Tesla. The message appears to be generated or at least passed through Tesla email servers for those folks. Other folks that bought cars with cash or other non-Tesla finance don’t seem to be seeing the message.

Either way it’s extremely odd and quite sensitive personal info that is being requested somewhat out of the blue.

Yeah, that kind of request would totally freak me out too. If you’re still dealing with stuff like this, I once tried using an Identity Verification API - ID Analyzer for a project, and it was actually pretty handy. It checks if documents are real and even matches the photo to the person’s face. Made things a lot easier and felt way safer dealing with sensitive info.
