Audi Q6 Issues, Complaints & Problems Thread

With the recent rollout of the Q6 and SQ6, I thought it would be great to create a space for sharing experiences related to issues, solutions, and known challenges. I'm contemplating placing a deposit soon, but I'd like to gather feedback from current owners about any problems they've encountered first.

When sharing your experiences, please specify the model and trim (e.g., Q6 E1, Q6 SLine), any error messages or warnings received, and when these issues began.

Here are some concerns I've come across from other users:
  • Owners re-added vehicles in the app to fix key user status issues.
  • A "Drive system fault" message was resolved by a reset, but caused concern.
  • Users faced authentication issues, leading to support tickets with Audi.
  • The digital key feature is partially non-functional; updates are expected soon.
I’m eager to hear if anyone else has experienced these issues or if there are other concerns worth discussing.

Range and battery percentage predictions.
My old etron 55 this was pretty much faultless. I was always happy to plan to get home with only a couple of miles left or 1% as I knew this was accurate.
As for the Q6,
Well it’s great that ot shows a battery percentage at the next stopover on the main Sat nav screen, but when I look at how many miles to go and the current percentage things don’t always add up. I’ve been at a services, having navigated there to charge up and being told I’d be there with 11% I was half a mile away with 15% and it still insisted I’d be there with 11%.
Today I was 13 miles from home and it said I’d use 10% battery to get there. Clearly that’s bo###cks, 10% goes twice that far at a minimum.

I hate the way it wants to drop into Efficiency Plus at 20% and kills off the AC. 20% or 45 miles is far too soon (again those numbers don’t match well), I wouldn’t have any impact until 17 miles range (about 8%) in the old etron when it would reduce power, why lose the AC at 20%? Makes no sense to me.

Picked up the car on Monday Jan 27th and dropped off Feb 6th for service. They can’t figure out why my MMI doesn’t allow me to set up the Digital Key. Total regret buying this car over the BMW IX. It is terrible when you buy. A new car and you can’t even enjoy it. Total fail on Audi and very disappointed with the service and knowledge of Audi West Chester in PA.

Whatever you do do not buy one !!! Got mine delivered 2nd March. It’s been in back at Audi for 3major faults already

Tailgate refused to close left me stranded
Refused to start at least 3 times then computer said no and shutdown completely
Both charging ports refused to open and left me stranded emergency opening system wouldn’t work either for The AA Man!
Honestly anymore issues and I will be rejecting !!!

Already rejected and repaid on the Q6 purchased at end of May 2025.

Vehicle went in to the dealer middle of August and payment was received 25 September 2025.

Computer shutdown issue including all emergency systems plus sundry other issues.

Vehicle found to have a massive number of fault codes which Audi UK Technical, Audi Germany Technical and the Audi factory where the car was built, all could not resolve.

As I understand the car is being returned to Germany.
