The best way is to get the VIN and use an online BMW VIN checker.

I have leased vehicles for a few years so vehicle tax has passed me by really, but OMG, what have the government done with car taxation ?

If you want a 2nd hand well Spec'd i3 Rex, that was a tad over £40k, the tax is just ridiculous. What incentive is there to get into a more "eco friendly" car. A BEV won't do it for me, so the Rex is needed. I don't want an older i3 Rex as the lack of warranty is a concern. It really has caused a weird valuation of year old Rex;s depending on which side of £40K they dropped.

I haven’t yet heard any of the candidates for PM mention a review of car tax as a key manifesto promise. Surely, if options were exempt from tax then all manufacturers would just offer a very basic car with a single driver’s seat. The rest would all be options.
