Just stumbled across this.

A pretty fair review IMO (although I have a standard i3 and have only driven an i3s for 10 mins around Silverstone at Fully Charged Live!)

It’s a shame an actual car reviewer couldn’t find time to fit in a long journey inside 6 months, or that they neglected to review or even mention various aspects, or that they didn’t work out how to coast properly.... but hey

It repeats all of the normal issues, including range anxiety despite an admitted lack of planning. Strange that they criticise the i3 for not being mainstream when they equally criticised the Leaf for being too mainstream.
Just to wind up @andrew*debbie they insist that it has run flat tyres.

Yup.

i3s sold in the UK most certainly does not have run flats. As far as I know All i3s come with Bridgestone Ecotopia EP500 which are not RFT. I'm going to see if I can email the author.

Or perhaps because he found the ride harsh and he blames it on the less compliant sidewalls typical of run flats rather than the lack of sidewall depth with 20" wheels and 55% profile on 175 front and 50% profile on 195 rear both having sidewalls of under 100mm which is tiny for a relatively heavy car.

Not much that I would disagree with although it doesn’t make economic sense to buy an “s” plus all the extras unless you’ve got money to burn. Since when was a reversing camera “essential“, especially on a small car? The i3 comes loaded with “extras compared with what you used to get with a BMW. So, list price around £31.5k with the grant.

I have the i3s do a 90 mile round trip commute and find the ride fine. It could be described as “engaging” but compares to other BMWs. If you want nice ride go Mercedes. If you want sporty ride then BMW. I love the i3s completely converted.
