Charge Timers on the e-Golf

More questions on charging, this time at home.

We are on an economy 7 tariff so are charging mostly at night.
On my Zappi charger it shows start and end times for the charges.
I have noticed that with an end time set in the car of 9am the car has finished charging before 7am so I looked at the log on the charger to see when it started the charge.

I have noticed that if I have the economy 7 time set in the 'locations' on the Golf then the charge starts at the start of the E7 time, 1.30am. I tried changing the E7 time to 4 am start and the charge started at 4 am. The car has then finished charging long before the time set in the car to end.
Last night I set up another 'location' without the E7 time selected and the car started charging at 6am and would have finished charging at about 9 am, the time the charger was set to finish if my wife hadn't unplugged at 8.30 to leave for work. That was my mistake.

Has anyone else with E7 noticed the charge has already finished when they get up in the morning?

If you don't have E7 does your charge end at the time you have set it to end?

Does anyone else even notice what it does?

Thanks.

Lots of confusion here. Have I missed something?

The Economy 7 period is midnight to 7am, hence 7 hours.
You can set the ‘off peak’ hours in the car to whatever you want. Is has nothing to do with the actual Economy 7 hours.
The time taken to charge will depend on how flat the battery is. A full charge from zero on a slow charger could easily take more than 7 hours.

My Golf GTE is set to charge from 2am, and only takes about 2 hours, and I’m rarely on the road before 5am.

Obvoiusly I haven't been clear, I'm good at that!

The timer in the car is set with an end time, i.e. charge to end at 9am, but I've noticed the charge has finished before I get up at 7 when I have the E7 option selected. I'll update the first post to make it clear, or try to.

I have two departure times, one for me one for the wife. The car has...as expected...initiated the charging in the small hours of the morning in order to reach the desired charge percentage at the set departure time.
I can see my Podpoint from the lounge window and can observe the change from flashing green (timer set) to green (charging) so I'm confident this is the case. This is in addition to the change in Car Net.
I don't have Economy 7 so have not set this up.

Interesting one last night, the alarm went off at 4.30 in the morning and woke my son up who sleeps at the front of the house and had his window open. He went downstairs and unlocked the car to stop it and it wouldn't lock again so he left it unlocked! When I got up it hadn't charged again. I pulled the charge cable out, but it back in and the car would lock and it started charging.
