Charger installation nightmare

Charger installation nightmare: after a week from hell at work, with health and other things, I thought at least today's charge point installation would go well. Nope.

Guy turned up an hour late and insisted it was fine to go ahead in the pouring rain.

He didn’t really position it where I said I really wanted it, then after 90 mins he admitted he's installed other brands but never a PodPoint.

He wasn't able to complete, test or commission it, and none of his team picked up his calls. Saturday, after all, the date chosen by them not me. It's not all the contractor's fault, but I've lost trust in the firm that sent him.

And due to work, storm Arwen damage being repaired over the next few days, hospital visits, etc, it's not convenient for me for them to return til late December. Great 🥲

I believe it's all wired up but hasn't been fully tested and when the guy tried, it wasn't drawing a load. After testing, it needs commissioning, which could well just involve calling PodPoint like you say, but I wasn't left a certificate or anything. An installation in the rain and darkush light, by an electrician new to PodPoint, who wouldn't position it where I wanted as he couldn't be bothered cabling an extra 60cm along the wall, doesn't give me confidence. I've not contacted the allegedly reputable installation agency, as I'm giving them rope to hang themselves and so far have heard nothing. Fingers crossed all works out well in the end.

Oh dear. They said they would send another guy today to fix, test and commission it, but after I waited around all afternoon they rang to say sorry, he'll be round in 10 days.

Meanwhile, I parked front ways in, unlike reversing like I usually do because we live on a busy road, and not even my 5m cable fits, because the original guy couldn't be arsed to wire it along the wall and put it where his drill exited. Hopefully a 10m cable will still be OK after reversing in once, IF, the damn PodPoint is eventually working. Pffffff....

Oh dear, sorry to hear. I personally had an installation around Storm Arwen. Luckily we had just missed the worse of it. We used Impra Charge. If they havent set up the dipswitch settings right then that would occur the power issue. Also they need to commission it for you to be able to use smart charging. I'd contact PodPoint directly as they are installing there products, you think they'd want quality for sure.
